I joined over there a while back and quickly decided that they are mostly a bunch of JBL snobs with an attitude. There are a few good folks but not the kind of forum that I want to hang at.

Really good folks! One of them has posted in this thread. He has also for many years been extremely generous in sharing his knowledge and experience which digs DEEP into the history. Thank you Steve!

At the end of the day, i think respecting our peers, gurus, dojos, and mentors is probably far more important, and more productive than bashing the "competition".

Giving credit where it's due, JBL pro cabinets from the 70's and early 80's were of exceptional build and material quality. All else being equal, they would be the envy of Altec.

Any serious Altec enthusiast owes himself a lengthy affair with the D-130 at some point along their journey. It is a wonderful driver.

I can agree with that, but hopefully will run into them elsewhere on the net.

    Agreed.

Steve has done more (Perhaps the most) to get a linear

Timeline, of the development of sound equipment,

that benefits those that want to know.

The D130, is an actual ground breaking product.

Even 'tho most do not know how to set these up properly.

    (the low qts thing)
    guns kill people,

    like spoons made rush limbaugh,

    fat ....
