Don't reveal JM-free forums on-line. PM or Email. Keep them JM-free.

Audio Asylum and diyAudio are JM-free by management decision.

Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.

The correct English usage is "No negative feedback loop, in ANY of these designs".

I just post WOJO spelling mistakes. Thanks for the correction. It takes TIME for me to do rebuttals, and I am not always having the luxury to triple check, plus, I make grammer mistakes, and grandpa mistakes also.

I would be willing to bet very GOOD money, not ONE of the people who gave your post " Likes" is regularly using an amp on their ALTECS with zero negative feedback.

I totally missed this thread and here he (Jeff) is again with his asinine assertions demanding once again that we need to be educated his way.
I believe it's time for this forum to do what so many other forums have done and bid Jeff farewell. I'm tired as many others are of being denigrated and talked down to.

The main reason I missed this whole post is because I don't spend much time reading anything on here anymore. This forum has been hijacked and I have been spending time on other forums as a result of that.

    Bill,

    You write

" what is an "out-of-time negative feedback loop"? If electricity runs at about half the speed of light (186,000 miles/second)/2 than a feedback loop that encompasses about 6" of wire and components throws off the timing? You can hear that? WTF? How sophomoric, of course any good listener can hear between the two, IF they had the proper opportunity to do so. Forget theory, it is results which count.

Since 1982, I have NEVER built an amp with a feedback loop....45 years. Now, if you eat beans, all the time, and only beans, you will never be able to consider what a good rib eye steak tastes like.

Others will explain it to you, I am sure. Let a NORMAL person, and a good audio listener, explain it to you. Not any EE, because feedback is one of their misguided crutches. We all know who the EE types are, posting herein.

Most DHT SET amps Bill, use zero feedback loops, hence, their popularity over the last 25-30 years. But unfortunately, starting with their power supplies, most such amps screw-up other design aspects internally, so people can only hear " at it ", and never what is fully-possible to achieve.

Jeff, your like a broken record. Same crap over and over and over. Never anything to back up your wild claims except "I can hear it".
Maybe you should start your own forum. There is a need for a forum for folks like you.

    Re: A7 plus Amp. Power/Headroom

I would like to see the board remain Altec specific.

If someone wants to promote something that works with Altec products maybe limiting them to one thread per person, not per product? It's easier to ignore one thread.

Maybe even a rule that permission is required before promoting a non-Altec product or design?

Promoting their designs as superior to Altec IMHO should be an instant ban?

I hate rules. I am just thinking out loud here, ignore anything not useful.
