    Could you explain "gap filler" a bit more? I don't know what kind of product you're referring to. I tried using a fast drying cement type product, and I think it's failing....... I have never finished them, but if I tap on them, I think I can feel that the cement has lost part of it's bond to the aluminum.

    FWIW I used self-adhesive, constrained layer, mass-loaded, automotive panel sound deadening pads on my 511Bs; top, underside and in the upper and lower front bells. A rap on the front lips gives a very low level and dull 'thunk' which has a frequency well below 500Hz. The finish looks good also.

    Spray foam, big gap filler at Home depot. Fill the underside and topside of the bell with it Trim it with a kitchen knife,spray paint it flat black.
