Concurrently ( to the 802-8D ) the diaphragm in the 16 ohm 802D had it's DCR raised ( to around 12 ohms ) .

Looks like I got more research to do. I'll check the companion HF driver to see what its DCR is (still installed in cabinet). Thanks mah........

The following pic ( of 3 different tabulation blocks ) should help clarify the matter.

This ( borrowed ) pic is from the daughter of an ex Altec employee ( Californian based ) who was selling diaphragms on eBay.

The first bit of script shows the stats for the two newer style diaphragms ( 34647 & 34852 > 8 & 16 ohms ).
- The 7th column shows their respective DCRs .


The second script of paper shows the older HF diaphragms.
- The 6th column shows the DCR's .
- 16 ohm diaphragms ( at 4Khz ) had 9 ohm dcr's .





- There was a change in wire thickness used compared to the older HF diaphragms.

While diaphragms can have an impedance at 4K, they can't have a DCR at 4K since 4K isn't DC. No biggie, just DCR would be a misnomer.
