Searches don't go more recent than middish 2016.
Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.

    Re: Search

Thank you for letting me know. Will need to re-index the entire system... Due to the size of Hostboard it will most likely be a day or two to get this setup and then just let it run... As always will post back once completed.

    Re: Search

found a mis-configuration in the Sphinx configuration. This should hopefully (crossing fingers) allow the system to index the older posts. Might take a bit as HB does have a few posts...

Steve, how much will it cost for our community to get a server so we can down/upload photo's ???? (Then you'll have to explain to me how to do it)

Well I sort of beat you to it... Let me explain...

On 8/25 we added a new feature tot he HBMCP to allow forums the ability to import images that are posted to the Hostboard server. So what happens is you post a thread, add a linked image from where ever and Hostboard will then attempt to import that image and re-write the link to that image so that the post is preserved. This way in say 6 months if a user leaves or deletes his hosted images that image is still displayed as it is now local to the system.

As an example look at this thread...

    Ot picture posting

The picture of the word hell that is frozen, was successfully imported to Hostboard. If you view/inspect the pictures element you will see the URL of where the image is actually stored. What is interesting about that image is the author's note that it is/was hosted on Photbucket. That service is very difficult to import from as they keep trying to block linked images and their downloading, and I have modified the code to circumvent their attempts to block recently.

Of course this does now present an interesting issue, of when disk space will start to become an issue and the need to add more space and with that the added monthly costs.
