Try a usb outboard dac with rca output, so that you can plug it directly to you preamp.

I live in a rural area and, at last, affordable larger download internet subscriptions will be available. What I would like to do is stream internet music content to my analog stereo system.
I guess I am looking for a computer WiFi to analog RCA sort of thingy to feed my preamp - nothing too fancy required.
Suggestions welcome.
Edit: OT.

Thanks, guys.
I came across this product on run-out for approx $US80. Hi Fi System: SH-ALL1C| Panasonic Australia
OK?

That will be ok.. you will have the advantage of playing your music from your computer wirelessly thru wifi.

It has higher sampling rates than this one: Google Chromecast Audio REVIEW | Sound+Image | Review | AVHub
The Chromecast Audio is half the price. The review found that it didn't support gap-less albums but for casual listening it could be OK.

Looks nice, but for me i will choose the device with rca out, to use with rca to rca cable going to preamp, instead of the 3.5mm output to rca.

3.5mm plug to rca

Well, the seller of the Panasonic unit wanted almost another 50% for shipping - nixed!
After reading the test article(2 parts) for for the Google Chromecast Audio, Archimago's Musings: MEASUREMENTS: Google Chromecast Audio - Part I: Analogue Output & Archimago's Musings: MEASUREMENTS: Google Chromecast Audio - Part II: Digital Output , I will risk all of $US35 on trying it.

I do use my record player and CD player... BUT I do a lot of listening thru my computer. Streaming college FM radio stations (CANNOT stand commercial FM stations) from all over the world, Pandora, Spotify, GooglePlay are HUGE- and have helped imensly in finding music of all types that are now in my "libraries". Spectrum/ComCast landline internet access to modem. Modem ethernet out to my Mac Mini desk top computer. USB out to Cayin iDAC-1 tube DAC. RCAs from DAC go DIRECT to my tube monobloc amplifiers. I do NOT use any pre-amp- I use the volume control in the computer. This allows you to eliminate a component (the preamp) in the signal path, which is usually a good thing. Probably wouldn't work with an integrated amp. Sounds very good- I think Apple handles audio signals well. Last I checked, NOS ("non-oversampling") DACs were the new rage- a lot on eBay from China for under $200.
