    New Altec PA speaker

This popped up on my ebay search. While still a Bluetooth speaker, it at least has a 15? woofer, and compression driver. I wonder what parts they used? Judging from the gimmicky LED lights, they probably used pretty cheap parts.

They're popping up a lot lately. Can't imagine what they could sound like.

    Re: New Altec PA speaker

Seems as though the current owners of Altec sit around and think up things they can do to further debase the brand. It's shameful, in my opinion. They should name these products Sparkomatic, MTX, Blastorama, George - anything but Altec! But that's the age we live in. The name owners intend to milk it for all it's worth until it becomes synonymous with JUNK.

I would think it?s more a POS speaker than a proper PA speaker...

Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.

    Re: New Altec PA speaker

You know how badly the name has been devalued when the reviewer says that Altec is "the outfit famous for making those tinny speakers slammed into your laptop." The glory days of Altec are not even a faint memory in the minds of this generation.

By the way, the little "floor monitor" doesn't look too bad. If that's any consolation.
