Curious why a nondescript small company going out of business would concern anyone here?
There's no longer a Web site and is not on social media.

That was the sound company in Australia still using Altec speakers and cabinets wasn't it?

Their web page says it's down for maintenance.
This, as far as I know, is the only company in Australia still using large format Altec product for live internal & external sound venues. They get the best live sound I have ever heard & it would be a real shame if they are no longer pursuing this.
Murray & his team are some of the most knowledgeable sound engineers in Australia & it would be a great shame if they are not going to be around moving in to the future. I, for one, am just hoping this is just a minor glitch.
They never could help me with parts. mah, Aussie.
Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.
Hope so to it's just a glitch.
I saw a picture of warehouse :huge
Sorry I still don't see a big deal. As mah said, they don't stock Altec parts. They took down the Altec lit from their site. ZERO support for Altec gear.
And then to post it here with a big yellow exclamation point? Beyond silly.
If they want support here let's see some support from them. Likely why they are going out of business.

I find all this speculation rather annoying.
First off - they are not an Altec distributor, an Altec stockist or an Altec dealer. They are a sound & production company that uses traditional Altec gear that we are all familiar with. The only reason they may have some spare parts is because they have kept a lot of gear that has now become redundant, so don't be upset when they can't supply something that you are after. They are not in the spare parts & aftermarket business.
The fact that they recognize that the large format Altec systems are vastly superior to the current crop of PA systems, should be more than enough to give them street cred on a forum such as this. This is, in fact, the support they give to a virtually dying breed of speaker format. I can't see that they could possibly give any more support than devoting their entire business to a brand & a type of speaker system that we all love.
It would have been much easier for them to go the usual route & put together a hotch potch mix of gear & tell their customers that "this is the best of modern sound reinforcement". But no, they can actually tell the difference between todays modern technology & the best of sound that you can get from a well set up Altec system.
Lastly, how does anyone know that they are still not actually operating? This could all just be conjecture. I'll make a few calls & report back. Even if the worst comes to the worst & they are no longer operating, we shouldn't be putting down a company that has supported the great products that we love for so many years.
To me it makes no sense to continue the conversation beyond here. So this is my last post on this.
My point is they do sell stuff. Mostly low end.
They used to sell Altec spares. They stopped.
They used to have Altec lit on their site for Altec users. They took it down.
So in my opinion they stopped supporting Altec. The last list I saw, all they were using was a few Altec HF drivers. It's customary for production companies to post their equipment list.
If they ever get the site back up I would love to be proved wrong.
