    Frd and zma file for 802-8g and 416-8a?

    Does anyone here have this type of files to share?

    You'll first need to specify which horn you want the 802g attached to .

    Additionally, the woofer needs to be placed within an agreed upon enclosure size.

    If you are after info for the 802G on the 32B bent horn then I suggest you read the following thread ( click the following pic );

    ( frds & zma's were offered in that thread )

    My speakers are a little special. Im using Seos 15 waveguides that has a recommended crossing around 1000 hz. But a simple 2 way butterworth will not do. I want to implement both drivers in (for this example) passive crossover designer 7 to simulate the curve and integoration between 416, 802 and Seos 15. The cabinet is a Altec 620 cabinet built after original plans.

    Crossovers tried so far is n800 (wich did not suit them at all) and 1200 Zilch model 19 filters. Sounden pretty ok when combined with Dirac.

    Now Its time to calculate a filter that sounds good without Dirac.

    I think I need to measure the 802 and Seos alone to have a freq qurve to convert into the software. But i have not found any info of the 416 more than the stock pdf spec page.

    Hi,

    I'll assume you actually own the mentioned drivers .

    That means, you should measure them yourself ( to create meaningful frds & zma's for an 802G on a SEOS15 ).

    You'll find-out ( eventually if you keep at it ) that the smaller SEOS waveguides ( including your 15" model ) all inject unwanted peaks into the drivers response.
    - There's always a primary peak ( or 2 ) in the 2-4K region.
    - IMO, these will need special LCR notch circuits to deal with the roughness for best results .

    Here's a good example of the response roughness ( the driver used was a B&C de250 ):
    - Black Line is the H290C ( note the smoother response )
    - Grey Line is a SEOS 12
    - This comparison was done by Wayne Parham ( Pi Speakers )

    No doubt you may find this revelation shocking due to all the buzz/hype around these ( & other smallish ) waveguides .

    ( IME ), the older Lansing drivers ( including JBLs ) respond better to waveguide/horn types that include within their bell expansion, a bit more exponential loading.

    - This makes ( historical ) sense since these drivers were developed in the days when full sized exponentials ( ie; multicells ) ruled the roost.


    Here's an indication ( X-Simed ) of what response is available from an Altec 802T ( fitted with a 34647 diaphragm ) on an Eminence H290B biRadial horn .
    - 1/12th smoothing is applied .

    Hmm maybe i should ditch the Waveguides and go for the stock Altec 811B horn instead.

    Yes drivers are already bought and playing in the cabinet.

    I did measure and had a nasty dip after 10k, found out that it is normal that the Seos dips after 10k.

    LCR circuits I already have in mind. Maybe also need to change to polarity of the driver. The Crossover designer will tell with the graphs.

    Here is the graph measured with the Dirac and also the freq cleaning that Dirac does.
