    Interesting read, but it is surprising to me that the authors chose that testing methodology. I don't think that this study presents a clear comparison for a signal path from an analog source vs from a digital source. In my view, that's the real point of the "vinyl revival".

    I do agree that the mechanics of using vinyl during playback is part the "experience" - this study shows that to be a factor, just as using vintage audio gear can color our perception of the SQ. Audiophiles (and even us mere mortals) can get caught up in nostalgia or wistful memories and that impacts our ears.
