Gone already. Gauss loaded sub and an engine before it was called an engine?

That didn't last long. Pretty sure it would rock a medium sized bar.
I thought the sub was the Altec branded 18" EV. ?

Pretty sure it's a Gauss 4883. This is earlier than when EV drivers found their way in. Note the recone kit is listed as R-4883.

Just did a forum search and found this post by whitebroncoii in 2010...he was around Altec about a decade and a half after me, during the Mark IV era...EV drivers weren't used in Altecs till the Telex era I THINK...

"The 9880-8A is loaded with a Gauss 18" woofer and yes, it was designed for loud music. The woofer is the famous dual spider design that was supposed to stay linear thoughout its travel. A very nice, hard hitting, high power subwoofer. "

if i could have got that set, i would have. someone got a great deal. i would have to bet that the set would have been really powerful. now i'll have to check out a pair of these 9880s. hopefully Bowtie doesn't tell people how good they are before i do.
