Correct, speakers are a system, so any added resistance, capacitance, inductance should be factored in calculating cab alignment, power requirements, etc.. A big deal with high output impedance systems, but p-p, SS not so much and all digital not at all.

Does running the LF active solve any of the problem ?

"all digital not at all" and why I recommend it in general since going all digital has its perks, it tends to be a bit too 'dry'/'clinical' to some, so for the rest; tubes, especially high output impedance SET is preferred since there's a certain synergy between them and compression horns, 'full-range' drivers.

Thanks GM. I'm running the 515 via a digital xover, separate to a 909/414_passive 2way. A tube amp certainly sounds nicer than SS. Dry and clinical is almost perfect in describing the digital sound which I find does not gel with the remaining Altec system.

    That sounds correct,

    Like the difference,

    Between a 515,

    And a D 131/D130
