Thanks! FWIW, FIR filters are the current rage on most forums I browse/post on.

Glad you like it. Crossover design has been stagnant until somewhat recent ventures into active powered DSP speakers. First studio monitors and now HiFi. I just purchased such a pair of JBL LSR 305 Mk11 smallish monitors for my new Sony(crappy sound) TV. The bang for buck($US300 pair) is amazing. Harmon(JBL) are producing some state of the art speakers at affordable prices.

Indeed! I've noticed a number of high[er] end DIY HTs are planned to use them.

A good start. I have not studied the papers and it has been years since I worked with FIR filters in school. My concern is that the listening tests are done with headphones. You lose the impact of the crossovers on the dispersion patterns at the crossover point... unless we believe that FIR filters have zero impact in the area that was a concern to traditional analog filters. Not sure about the experience of others, I use an active crossover (EV DX46 with FIR filters) at home on my system and changing filters types and slopes do impact the imaging on my system.
