O-tee Pet Sounds. wth?

so i got the Beach Boys pet sounds CD. WOW
i was looking for some cds and checked out some audiophile pages to see what cd recordings they might suggest. one cd that seemed really popular was Pet Sounds. so i got a copy from ebay. I've always liked the beach boys i figured this should be great, the first song was a little off but sounded really good, hey it'll get better, right? by the 3rd song well, not yet, turns out the whole thing was a 35 minute love letter to his girlfriend. a LOOONNNNGGGGGGG 35 minutes. all in all i may never voluntarily put that thing back in my disc player ever.

Lol. I?ve heard the same things about that CD, that it is ?audiophool? quality. But I?ve never heard it. Thanks for saving me from the disappointment.

Some of the other Beach Boys stuff does sound pretty good on the Altecs though.

Ok I was looking at Pet Sounds on eBay. What version of the CD did you buy Phil?

There are some from the 90’s. Some from a few years ago. A UK version. And a version that has all the songs in mono, and then all the songs in stereo

mine is 1990 I'm not sure if its stereo or mono, i haven't found it in the extensive liner notes that otherwise extols the incredible genius of this masterpiece.

I saw the 1990 version. I was thinking about getting the newer one that has both the mono and stereo tracks. Just so I can see what all the hype is about

and in the odd chance your reading this Mrs Kaye. the music sounded really good on the Altecs. and i loved good vibrations
