Searching for “Altec Semco” I found this other pair of 612 cabs that the seller is claiming are Semco. Even though it looks like one has an Altec badge on the front. Maybe they had a contract to build 612 cabs or something? Who is this Semco?

SEMCO is a new one to me. I don't recall ever hearing that name mentioned among cabinet manufacturers.Maybe they had a contract to build 612 cabs or something? Who is this Semco?

From what I understand, Altec subcontracted enclosure construction, particularly the utility cabs. They were just plywood boxes and it made no sense to ship California air to the east coast so they contracted with multiple manufacturers around the country.
I wasn't part of it so that's just hearsay.
Semco was a manufacturer located in Long Beach , CA and made wooden tackle boxes (Sportsman Equipment Manufacturing Company).
I'm not 100%, but I believe....
They may have went on to manufacturing consoles for the video gaming industry. If so, they aqcuired PVL and built the Frogger, Ghost Hunter, Etc., video consoles becoming Hannaho PVG/Semco.
