Yeah 21060 are original cones. That what my 414-16b have also. I?m not sure about the W next to it. Mine don?t have that.
saw these on ebay. No one seems to be buying them. They look nice enough. The only thing i can see is a W penciled in next to the cone #

The W is for a Waldom made cone. AFAIK the lesser quality aftermarket one,
Have to agree with O.G. on this one. Different cone than a 417. Maybe the W designated woofer to the new hire,so he wouldn't use the wrong cone. It even looks like the C.P. Moyen Altec black glue though, applied carelessly.
Ya know- that made me think...maybe at the recone shop? Like you said, maybe a new hire, or one of us forgetful old guys trying to remind himself it's a woofer cone, not a musical instrument cone? I could see myself doing that. I would probably write 414 and be done with it, but same principle. Just because they are original Altec cones doesn't mean they are the ones that came in the speakers when new.
