About 150 metres from Les's Take-Away is Dewy's Take-Away. In there they have a sign that reads "Chris's Kitchen". What's wrong with those people?
I've got two new ones....
Yesterday, on the way to a wedding, I passed a large field of crops, misc. vegetables and fruits. Down the road a ways, i noticed a building, and several white signs leading up to this building, and as I got closer, i noticed that the white signs had the names of different fruits and vegetables, that i'm assuming were being sold at the building. As i passed them, i made sure to read each one of them, and when I saw the cantaloupe sign, i just knew that it was going to be spelled wrong. I was incorrect, but to my surprise, the next sign was spelled wrong "Squach" as they called it, which i'm assuming was supposed to be "Squash". I got a good chuckle out of that one.
Then, just about 5 minutes ago, on the way back home (from the gym, i might add), there was a truck on a store parking lot that was selling different melons and other produce. they too had a sign, and this time, i was not dissapointed. they were selling "ARK TOMATOES CANALOPES"
This is quite a bit late, but i drove by the place this afternoon and reminded me of it. so i'm posting it now.
just before 4th of july weekend, there was a local restaurant that was advertising it would be closed over the upcoming weekend.
the sign read:
------------------
Closed
July
2nd, 3rd, 4rth
------------------
<font size="4" face="Comic Sans MS, Verdana">i don't even understand what that was supposed to say.Originally posted by GravyTrain:
"ARK TOMATOES CANALOPES"
ARKansas TOMATOES and CANtALOuPES
obviously, the lower case letters in the above line are the letters that should have been added to the sign.
but yeah, when i first posted it, i was pretty sure that someone (a non-arkansas ) would not understand the "ARK" which I am assuming is what was causing you problems.
Ha, yeah I spent ages thinking of a fruit or vegetable that resembled the word "ARK"... can't believe I never even thought of Arkansas....
Drove by the place yesterday on the way back home, and they still had the same sign, but they had added the token disabled Vietnam Vet, and made sure that he sat right up next to the road so that everyone could see that he had no legs. it was quite sad, yet i was a bit offended that they would arrange things such as that. anywyas....they still can't spell.
I saw a sign on the road about a month ago that said "koots fer sail"
