BLAIS (written 2001)

I wrote this poem/letter 5 years ago. It's as if I was writing to a friend...

Hey man, its been some time since I wrote you
Maybe two or three weeks since I even spoke to you
I wanted to write you good word in this letter
I hope what you write me back sounds a lot better

What I came here to do man, a long time ago
Well things have gone different then I might have hoped
Im still in the same shit I had been before
Though now I feel deeper inside of this hole

Of whatever I never thought I would get into
There's just some things in life you can't explain why you do
Or you feel, I should say, but the point's still the same
This longing emotion that won't go away

And as much as it hurts, it's a comfort to stay
For all I could ask for, was lost that same day
In the most fucking dumbest decision I made
I smoke 'till my lungs bleed, to distract the pain

Then again to tomorrow, a new fucking day
When maybe this time, I could make it OK
As I walk down these streets, I might see him again
When he'll be in my arms, not just in my head.
