Processing very old Super-8 color stock
Hi.
Dug out my box of Super-8 films and counted up the unprocessed cartridges
tonight. I have 18 50' Kodak cartridges that (hold onto your hat) were shot in
or around 1973. This stuff is family history and for decades was just neglected.
I have some Kodachrome and Ektachrome. No idea if there is anything of value
on these cartridges, but I want to have them processed, knowing full well that the
color and contrast won't be pretty (maybe totally unusable), but it's worth a
try.
Any suggestions for labs processing these today? I read there was a Kodak
outfit in Switzerland still doing Kodachrome.
Thanks.
Re: Processing very old Super-8 color stock
As far as I know only Dwayne's Photo in Parsons KS in the USA are still processing Kodachrome super 8 film in color until the end of 2010. There is another lab, Rocky Mountain Film labs but they will only process Kodachrome film as a B&W negative.
