    Life

I always took life for granted,
    Never once was amused.
    Never once was abused.
    I looked into the hourglass,
And there I saw my death,
As I watched the sand begin to pass.

We never think twice about our lives.
We never see, what we could be.
So many dreams, that do not come true,
So many questions, why is the sky blue?

For what do we live, if we are all to die,
There is no answer, only why.
All the beauty, is in the eye,
In the eye of the beholder.

We forgive, but never actually forget,
    Life is like a cigarette,
Birth begins, when it is lit.
As it winds down, our lives pass by.
Until the day, that we die.

There are rules, that we obey,
    Though we curse them, everyday.
Why are we here, on this wretched Earth,
Is there such thing, as rebirth?

    So many questions,
    So few answers.
    So many truths,
    To the one lie.
    Why, why must we die?

We live in fear, for all our life,
We cannot escape the endless strife.
To see so far, in the past,
    Look through the hourglass.
With its sands, time shall flow,
Life is not fast, it is simply slow.

To what degree, do we end,
When we die, to where do we descend?
    Unexplained answers, only raise questions.
    What mysteries lie beyond.
After night, will there always be dawn?

Life is a question, with an answer unfound.
You shall learn, once you're placed in the ground.
    Eternal rest, is no slumber,
    Eternal life, is no more.
Someone tell me, oh for what for.

    In the sky of darkness,
    Something shall emerge,
    Something we shall think of,
    As an evil scourge.
Perhaps that will end all life,
Perhaps that will end all strife.
    But think before you act,
Of what is myth, and what is fact.

    Life is unforgiving,
    And death is even worse,
Both of them, are a terrible curse.
I see the winds, that blow so fast,
I see the life, that shall not last.
    No one understands it,
    No one can escape it,
No one will want to run from it,
Until the time becomes to late,
And we shall have sealed, our own fate.

    We took life for granted,
    And gave in to God.
    We shot down hopes,
    In a single nod.
    We are the killers,
    Though we held no trigger,
We all wish, that we were bigger.

Nothing in life, is for free,
In the end, we pay the fee.
I watch as the sun goes down,
And as the moon, grows fully round.

In life we regret, one major thing,
That we never took part, in our being.
Two things were set, from the start,
    One was the power,
The other was having to part.

    Take life in strides,
    And live it through,
And perhaps waiting on the other side,
    Is someone, just for you.

    I thought I could run,
And try my best to hide,
I thought it would be so fun,
If I could take the final ride.
But not a single one of us can truly cheat death.
All we can do is prolong it at best.

We do have things that we are glad to have accomplished,
Such as having love, and money to polish.
But none us have done our best,
    What we did not do,
We thought others, would finish the rest.

We all have angels, as well as our demons,
Through women come eggs, and through men comes semen,
    And a child to bring,
It is a human, not a thing.

All our lives, are lost in the dark,
But we can create fire, with just a simple spark.
    Some things are holy,
    Some are just outdone.
None of us ever, truly stay young.

I've only wanted one simple thing in life,
A woman to love, and to possibly call my wife.
But some things just weren't meant to be,
Some of us just weren't meant to be happy.

Before you die, call out their names,
And pray, for the silent everlasting rain.

I see what many do not,
I have been called fool, by quite alot.
We all have things, that we must confess,
Some are great, others are less.

    Look through the looking glass,
And see what things, may yet come to pass.
    Live your life, without fear,
And reminisce, at the end of a year.
Life is the game, that can never end,
Until you fully start to descend.

*agrees with mel* Rev told me to look at his new thread, I had no idea what to expect. Very nice, I must say I'm impressed. Yet, at the same time...a lil sad...all this time, I thought Rev was shallow...does this mean you aren't my boy toy anymore? biggrin
