Well I read Rose Anne's Topic and I can relate, I just have to keep remember I can do this alone.. Single Moms, the unsung hero's.. I sat down and wrote a peom just for people like me.. Here goes, I hope you all like it..Let me know..

Single Moms
The unsung Hero?s

Not one of us planed it,
No not even I?
Who would have thought,
Kids, and no guy?
Yes that?s right,
I?m here to tell ya.
I don?t care what people say,
It?s not a picnic ending up this way?
Sometimes your tiered,
Just down and out..
There?s no one to help you,
And you have so many doubts..
Was it the right thing,
Only time will tell..
I must say it is better,
Than living in Hell..
You?re a mother, a father,
A doctor, a nurse,
Counselor and a teacher..
You?re the housekeeper,
The garbage lady,
Sometimes even a vet..
But do you get paid for all these things?
No, not pay that can help with bills,
But a pay that comes deep from within..
You get a soft kiss on your cheek,
A tight hug around your neck..
And smile yes smiles
They are the very best..
You can always do without
The rest!

I usta always (since i was 13 years old) buy my mom flowers on MY birthday.

Alot of my friends thought i was nuts- but i knew who did all the work to push me into this world...who pushed me to do the right things later in life...didn't make a whole lotta sense for ME to get gifts on that day each year...mom did all the work.

Now i take flowers to her grave on my birthday...

Happy Mother's Day (as T would say )to YOU AND YOU AND YOU AND YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s....thank you from your kids too.

snowshine- nice job!!!

Thanks Dave..

When you look at me

When you look at me,
What do you see?

Someone loud,
and not afraid?

Please look again,
If that?s all you see..
Because once again,
Your missing the best part of me..

I am a single mother,
Scared and alone..
Working hard,
To be all that I can..
Trying to raise my kids,
Without a man..

But yet I wake each day anew,
Ready to deal with all that is real..
I don?t always have time,
To look my best..
And sometimes my house,
Is much more than a mess..

So don?t just judge me,
At first sight..
Sit down and talk,
It?s always nice to hear,
That I?m not the only one that has fears?.

So when you see someone,
That not the same as you..
Don?t look away,
Just remember,
It could have been you?

The famous country singer Barbara Mandrell made a comment after accepting an award from the country music association. She was talking about her retirement and how she is spending each day with her kids and taking care of them first hand now. She then made this comment, "And women out there I want you to know, the hardest job in the world, where you work for free is motherhood. But it is the most rewarding. I have never worked so hard in all my life for free, as I do at working at being a mother".

And I saw a shirt one time, that was suppose to look like the "army, be all you can be" t-shirts. It had a military theme look to it, but it read, "Motherhood, be all you can be. The hardest job you will ever love".

Talking

That poetry was beautiful!!!

Being a Mom..is the best accomplishment I ever saw through. Getting divorced and single wasn't in the plan. But, here I am a single mom.

My son just had his 10th B-Day and it was more a celebration of how glad I am, he is in my life. I have been raising my son alone for 6 years now and its been everything from utterly frightening at times to literally saving my life and everything in between.

I in front of everyone at his party told him and them how I often hear others tell me what a great mom I am. I only ever say in return, "Its easy to be a great mom, when you have such a great kid! All I do is provide him with the tools and he puts them to work. He deserves the credit for being who he is. He is my bestfriend."

When i talk to you,
my heart sighs.
it needs to see more,
know more.

it feels...right.
but it also is
scared, like yours.

i have no solutions to all
our troubles but
it might be
nice to explore the answers
sometime soon.
