    Spyderluv,

I was referred here by an old acquaintance. Spawn looks better than ever, wouldn't you say. I just re-registered on that board. I go by Nostromo there. Within minutes of my first new post in years, I was told where to find you. How have you been? I've missed the stories. I need to be taken away again. The Imbalance missed me...

    ...now, do you remember?

    Cool

I've been good. A little too good. I keep wondering when I'll either wake up or screw up. It looks like you've been a bit busy. Still keeping up with GNR? I heard Buckethead quit.

***I really didn't, but someone else was using that name at the time. What do you think? From Rolling Stone by the way.***

Off the subject sort of, I always thought the first 7 songs on AFD were just about perfect for a nasty hard rock record. Does anybody agree that Think About You kind of broke the momentum? I would have replaced it with Reckless Life which was written during those same sessions (or even nice boys!). Those two songs seem to fit the theme of the album more appropriately, plus they are great songs. I realize that SCOM also is a little out of place but that is a classic. REckless Life would have made that album flawless in my mind.

Good point Madag.....(can't spell). That would have made the album killer. I like "Think About You", but it's like filler IMHO.

Yeah, I do agree, but I think maybe they wanted people to see a softer side of them. But that is a song that doesnt seem to go with the album, just like Something In The Way on Nevermind. Great Monkey how could you not mention Patience?

Sorry Roman, as I have said before, I never liked Patience. Just never appealed to me.

Every song on that album was divided into two sets: the "G" side and the "R" side. If you had it on cassette or vynil, it was physically divided by sides, no random intermingling. The "G" set was the heavier stuff as would be more commonly associated with guns/L.A. Guns and the "R" set represented the bad boys' softer side: roses/Hollywood Rose. Completing the band's establishment from portions of two others by recognizing different songwriting styles in the same genre of music makes the album somewhat of a historical record. With that first big break they said,"this is where we came from, whether you give a damn or not." Guns N' Roses reinvented the ideal debut. Each and every one of those songs belongs exactly where it is. Appetite is diabolically perfect.

Additionally, since we've been denied Chinese Democracy for over two months now, has anyone heard of anything remotely bearing semblance of an apparant official statement regarding a new release date? Rolling Stone hasn't reported anything since the European shows were cancelled. I'm thirsty for GNR news. And I do mean news, not rumors. Case in point, I thought I heard that Tori Amos was covering "Oh My God" on her new album due in September. If it turns out to be true we'll see about erecting another stake next to Sheryl Crow's.
