    *hugs Merle*

It is weird to see your name on the board at the same time and be so close, yet so far away!

Such is the nature of the internet. Have a great holiday bud.

    *hugs again*

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Asis, Merle, and all of our buds.

I am getting ready to cook Christmas dinner for the whole family, my first time. I probably usually cook for that many, but now I have to make sure I have enough. Right now I should be doing major cleaning, but instead here I am on the computer.

    Hugs!

Deep-fried Turkey, Bmat. Really the best way to go.
Just have someone just responsible for that do the work. You can then start the preparations for everything else, and 50 minutes before everything else is ready, hollar for the turkey crew to do their thing. 45 minutes later, the turkey is done, and ready.

Two things...have the turkey ready without any stuffing inside. Put the turkey in the deep-fryer, and then pour in the oil until the turkey is just barely covered. Then remove the turkey from the oil, and fire up the burner. These two things are very important. Too much oil, and when it's time to cook the bird it boils up big time and overflows if there's too much. The second important thing is no stuffing. Don't want to boil the oil with stuffing in the turkey. Otherwise, even though the wings aren't functional, and there aren't any feathers, that bird is gonna fly!

Now, if the stuffing-cooked-in-the-bird is essential, forget the deep-frying and cook the bird in a conventional oven for the nominal 2 hours.

    Merry Christmas, everyone.

Crash, whenever I log in at Ancient Worlds, no one is on. I posted there in the HP topic, btw.

Can't wait to hear the stories of baking disasters.

Bmat, keep us posted on the preparations. Hey, you need to relieve stress, too, so posting here is a good outlet, yes?

Wizz, the Sheriffs deep fry a turkey at Thanksgiving, right outside the garage. Can't say in words how good it smells. I never tasted any, though.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone (or whatever you celebrate). Of course, I finally get my parents to come East from Christmas and DC has its coldest days in 15 years. They keep referencing the warm weather in California and something about this is why they moved.....

That aside, I have managed to reduce my mother to laughter with my baking abilities (hey new stories to share) and my Dad has determined that my couch is great for napping.

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday.

Merle, we can get grams at Ancient Worlds if you want them.

Merry Christmas all from the UK, just in case I don't get back here in time...

It doesn't matter if it all gets screwed up, as long as you can all laugh at it!

Merry Christmas all! I will be having My parents as well as Karinas parents over on Xmas eve for drinks and ordourves. I have a wood stove and this place needs a serious dusting. Mega cleaning to do. As for foods, we ordered a coldcut plate , but have made hoeade meatballs, teryaki wings, chips dip and all that.

For Saturday, we are bringing Lasagne and Karina's homade Frozen Chocolate moose pie (to die for). I made a good homade cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving, but put i too much lime zest. Not sure what concoction Ill try this year.

Anyway...once again, merry xmas, happy hanaka...yada yada yada.

Hey Merle, how did you like the pics I sent of my first full home decorating for Xmas. Cant wait for the electric bill.
