HEHE Baze, you were probably pretty lucky to find a blank white screen, from what I understand, there was a porno site at that URl for a little bit.

Hello everyone. Doesn't look as though this topic has been active this week. Hope to have someone to talk to before long. This new format is great.

*Baze picks up her knitting*
So, it was my hen night last Saturday night, and boy, am I still recovering... It was great, apart from the acute embarrassment caused by being forced to wear a garter, a veil, and a large L plate all night. Aren't friends brilliant?

Ok, Baze...details please.
Garter? Okaaayyy.
Veil? Well, yeah, I know what that is too.
L Plate? Only one I'm familiar with is the one that is used for the first year of driving a motorcar.
But, what's with the "forced" part? Initiation to a new guild? Or, have you taken up belly-dancing?

Okay, I guess the garter and veil pretty much speak for themselves. The L plate is indeed the same sort as on a car- large, white with a big L on it, magnetic. Tied round my neck. Which looked good!
I did say many, many times that I wasn't entirely up for wearing a huge L plate all night, but my friends literally forced me to wear it. Well, maybe not literally. Bought me drinks until it seemed like a good idea. This is apparently traditional for English hen nights. Or that's what they said!
And coincidentally, we ate dinner at a Lebanese restaurant, where I did indeed attempt belly dancing. In veil, garter et al. I doubt I'm going to live this down ever.
Great fun though!

Lebanese food? Was it in London? Went to one back around Jan. 2000 that was called "The Vineyard" I believe.
Fantastic food, but there weren't any belly-dancing candidates that night. Glad you had a good time...just so it's an initiation thing and you won't have to do it again.

Okay, it's the mad dash to finals!
I don't know whether to ask you folks to wish me luck or to tell me to break a leg. In some ways, finals do feel like performance art.
On top of preparing for finals, I'm working on an upgrade for my aunt's computer and trying to prepare for my trip to Polly's and to I-Con, now only a week away.
The interesting thing I've noticed is that I tend to not remember that Aaron's birthday is also only a week away. I have to wonder: Am I hesitant to acknowledge that my son is going to be 16 this year?
Cheers, folks. I have to get ready for school.

MightyLady- good luck in finals!
Wizz- nah, it was in Oxford- although it's good to hear that you've visited the UK. Did you stick your nose in Oxford? Worth a trip if you're ever around. Home of fine Lebanese bellydancing establishments. Well, one anyway.
