Good goin', Polly. Sounds like the goodtimes will roll again.
As for travelling cross-country via bus (did I read that right? Cross-country in a bus?), I can't imagine me doing it. (Unless I was driving the bus!)

Yea, Polly! High five!
I don't get on buses anymore, either.

OK. Let me clear this up. I did NOT go across the country in a bus. I was on a luxury motorcoach with about 40 other people (mostly much older people) doing a tour of Oregon so posh that they wouldn't even let us bring our own bags to the bus in the morning. I don't usually have a problem with busses. I even took a bus to the Gathering on Cape Cod where I got to meet so many of you lovely people. I did a lot of bus sleeping during Glee Club tours when I was in college. But Oregon has a lot of mountains and therefore a lot of switchbacks. I don't do that well with switchbacks. They do something to my inner ear I guess. Given that situation, it is VERY good advice for me to avoid a bus trip across country. I'm guessing that the third and fourth days or the fourth and fifth days(the Rockies, whenever they are) would be killers.
Anyway, thanks for the good wishes. It looks like my first day will be August 6th. My new boss thinks it would be a good thing to get settled in during the one slow month they have before the big push that arrives in September. When I think about it carefully, I would hate to be stressing out about an impending first day of new job while I am in Canada and visiting Bee, so it is just as well. Also, I need to be earning money again. I really do. So....if human resources can process the paperwork, it will be the 6th. Does this mean I can replace the TV in my bedroom that is over 20 years old and is dripping some kind of unidentified and possible toxic substance
down its screen?
Also, it seems like time to start a new Sewing Circle, no?

Sorry I misunderstood your trip, Polly! I had a great time bussing up and down the east coast several years ago to a meeting, but that was only 24 hours, including plenty of waiting time in NYC. A long-ago cross country trip, however, was the trip from you-know-where!
Funny, I've only had ear problems on the Pennsylvania Turnpike! Guess that just shows we're all different!
Best of luck with the new job. We'll all be "with" you on that first day!
