Does anyone else read these books? I just finished the fourth one (today in fact). I have to say that while I started them mostly to see what the fuss was all about and cause my bro in law recommended them. I got quickly sucked in though and now consider myself among the throngs desperately waiting for more. smile

Also, I just caught a piece of the trailer for the movie and was totally awed by it. I WILL see that in the theaters! I WILL I WILL I WILL..... :-)

Ran, I have been hooked completely by the Harry Potter series... first my mother gave the books to our son, then I started reading 'em, and when he didn't want the last book I went and got it for myself! Is there a website for the movie?

I read the first book out of curiosity also. I have the second, but haven't gotten a chance to read it yet. I'll probably get a chance to read it when school gets out for the summer, or during spring recess.

Ery, as a matter of fact, yes there is a website. It's harrypotter.warnerbros.com

You can see the trailer there as well as "enroll in Hogwarts". The Sorting Hat assigned me to Gryffindor, though I suspect everyone does. smile Always pictured myself more as a Ravenclaw type.

Ery, anytime. I do have to say that from the trailer, I think they hit the casting dead on. It was so obvious who everyone was and it's almost as if they took it from my mind. One thing though is I always pictured the Great Hall with the door in a different place, but oh well. smile

Ran, ooo that was fun! I'm in Gryffindor too, if you need help with your spells homework wink

What a fun site, kids no doubt get a thrill, and it certainly appears to be what my imagination pictures when I read "Harry Potter."

One of the things I really enjoy about the books is that they truly are fun for both kids and adults to read -- not written down to a child's level, but containing the childlike wonder (with equal parts of "ewww GROSS!! that kids love) with really ripping plots and characters.

    Thanks for the link!!

I love the Harry Potter books. I bought Book 4 the night it came out. It was interesting to be at a book stoer at Midnight and to watch all the kids talking about the book and how all they were going to dow as read that weekend.

So anyone want to speculate about book 5?

What I wonder is whether the next book will come out this year, before the movie debuts next fall.

I get the feeling that the book will not be out until after the movie. During the book 4 publicity trip, Rawlings (sp) had not even started writing book 5
