No. I think the only way to get rid of Al Davis is to throw him off a walkway into an abyss aboard his re-constructed space station. :P

LOL, I was thinking of firing the owner of the Niner's more. I think that firing Mariucci was a mistake.

JaceSan: Nah, Al Davis is a great owner for that team. You wouldn't believe the morass the politicians in the Oakland area have created, and then duck under the storm when the xxxx hits the fan. His issue is he won't spend the $$$ for a decent publicist to get the other side of the story out.
Asis:You mean Dr. York? He fired Mooch because Mooch wasn't part of the clique in power. If he'd gone to the Super Bowl and lost, he'd be fired too. He did not negotiate any more power, nor a different/better job position. If you read all the news reports, there's a pattern, and you see that the coach was a target all year. Just didn't have anything worthwhile to get rid of him for, and the NFL as issued a private edict that there will be no draft picks traded for coaches. No incentive to keep him, they wanted him out (Carman Policy was the one that hired him) so Walsh and Donahue could pretend they're looking for the best. Politics, plain and simple. Mooch was set up, and now he's gone. Fire the owner? What, and get someone who has a clue about football? Hey, we're running a business here!
Makes Al Davis look like a saint (hope Al doesn't hear me say that...)

I was kidding about Al. I know a lot of people despise him for moving the team down to LA. His negotiations with Oakland left a lot of taxpayers in Alameda County paying for the renovation of the Coliseum. I blame it on lousy politicians who couldn't handle the deal with the same business savvy that Al posseses.
He's done a lot for football over the course of NFL history.

Oh well...guess it was worth the $8.0M, 2 first round and 2 second round draft picks. John Gruden deserves the MVP for the Super Bowl, for sure...
Next year, it'll be different.

It seems Gruden had the Raider's offense dialed in. I thought Gannon and Callahan were bright enough to change things around enough to beat him.
