We had an appointment for one of the dogs at the vet this morning, and can't go. Driveway is iced over. Wouldn't be so bad except it's got a pretty steep grade, and I don't think I want to go sledding in the car. We wouldn't be able to get back up the driveway, either, when we got home. So we're staying put.

Funny thing -- since we moved to South Carolina, I stopped putting snow tires on in winter.

I guess I should keep quiet on this one, being in California and all. I think the coldest it's been during the day recently is slightly below 50 degrees farenheit (above zero).

Sorry for those of you on the opposite coast who have the awful cold.

The UK is down to zero Celsius, with a possibility of a little snow. Pretty cold for here, but by no means the worst I've seen.

We are in the 20's, which isn't too bad. Problem is it is cold enough that there is a nice layer of ice on everything. It took me longer to remove the ice from my car then it took to drive to work. (I only live 3 miles away)

Ah well, tomorrow we should get into the 40's and all this strange white stuff will melt.

This touched down about a mile from where I was standing outside with my students. Feeling a little like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz I asked my them if they wanted to cancel class, and since the 'rain date' was Super Bowl Sunday they said 'No, let's continue!' I thought they were a little nuts, though and kept an eye on it until it blew itself out.

Have had over 30" of rain here since Dec 1st, so although its warm it is a bit soggy.

Damn bud, glad you and your students are ok. Although I think they are strange. LOL

We lost power here yesterday afternoon about 1 o'clock, got it back this afternoon at about 3:30. It got right cold in the house last night, and we had to throw out nearly everything in the fridge today. And there's the possibility of more power outages tonight, since it's going to freeze again and they expect more trees down. We lost one tree and a lot of limbs in our yard, but fortunately nothing hit the house.

At least I finally got around to cleaning out the fridge.

Fan is there any way to store the food outside? I know it is cold enough here to keep the food frozen.
