???
Amish are Orthodox Jews? If Mennonites were Jewish, then I guess they are...
However, I'm a non-practicing Catholic...and I don't really have a race number for my ride.

How weird... How often do people use the word "Amish" in a sentence? I ask because the other day while grocery shopping one of the women who works in the deli told me I looked Amish.
I have no idea what she meant.

She was probably referencing the way you were dressed. (shrugs)
Since when did people start thinking the Amish were Jewish? When did we stop teaching history in the US?
I was watching Super Millionare for like 5 minutes last night. One of the questions was "In what state was the shot heard around the world fired?" The possible answers were North Carloina, Virginia, Deleware, and Massachusetts. First the contestant has to ask the audience and then 30% of the audience said Deleware or Virginia.
Sorry, pet peeve of mine....
For the record, bad spelling is not a pet peeve of mine and is a clear indication that I was way too worried about politics and history n school to give a damn about spelling.

Well, Prof, I believe the hat was what caused the question of me being an "Orthodox Jew" instead of Amish. Easily understood...
Massachusetts (Lexington, I believe) is the state where the "shot heard 'round the world" was fired. First shot of the American Revolution.
North Carolina is where the first flight was recorded by the Wright brothers.
Deleware is the first state of the union.
Virginia is where the first president of the U.S. was born.
A couple of "firsts" in American History for ya.
