We have been hard at work behind the scenes updating the Hostboard Control Panel (HBCP) and are now ready to announce for the first time ever you now have the ability to control exactly who and how your forum(s) are accessed.

Hostboard is broken down in to user groups. This is how we control access to the different areas. These user groups are now visible under the "Manage Users" link "Usergroup" tab When you click on any of them there is a drop down list that will allow you to control how members access your forum(s)

In addition you have the ability to create your very own custom user group. Coming in the very near future you will be able to add members to this group and then control how they access your forum(s).

This gives you unprecedented control of your forum(s)!!!

Next on the list is customizing the look of your forum. As you probably have noticed the forums have reverted back to the default style. We are finishing up an entirely new way to approach the way customizations are going to work as initial feedback to the first implementation was that it was too difficult. First there will be an all new default look for hostboard forums. If you wish to change it from there, you will have the ability to select from 25 pre-made skins that are all the same except all being of different colors. After that we will be also allowing the ability to customize the forum through changing the CSS (Cascade Style Sheet) file. We are also still committed to making this part of the customizing easier with a chooser and preview section but they are a bit further down the road.
