imagine if Cherie was to record an album full of cover songs. Which number would you most like to hear her do. Think my own personal favourite would be the old R'n'B clasic 'Stay With Me Baby'. How about the rest of you...

Cherie does the most AMAZING emotion filled cover of the Nazareth song "Love Hurts". (Yes, I know Joan did that one too), but ya gotta hear Cherie do it. It's on the "Live at the Viper Room" concert video we'll be releasing soon. I'd like to hear a studio version of that!

An album of covers wouldn't be such a good idea in my estimation - it certainly didn't work for Joan. I also didn't care for Joan's version of Love Hurts. I'm not sure what Cherie could do with it, but I'd rather hear her rock out on "Hoir of the Dog" if she had to do Nazareth.

I think a good fit for Cherie would be either "Help Me" or "Raised on Robery" by Joni Mitchell.
Also definietly something by Bowie - Hang Onto Yourself, Up the Hill Backwards, John I'm Only Dancing, Fashion, Cracked Actor...

By the by, I just heard "Watch that Man" on some corporate TV commercial the other day. It's like thery're whoring ALL my old Bowie memories - very sad. I wonder how Cherie feels about this.

I've had the great pleasure of hearing Cherie perform Love Hurts live on a couple of occassions, and her rendition is the best I've ever heard. She breathes so much passion into the song - unlike other cover versions I've heard before!!!
She has also done a great version of the old Stevie Nicks / Fleetwood Mac song ' Landslide' in concert

I haven't heard Cherie's version of Love Hurts.. Joan's is pretty good, but Ann Wilson of Heart does a emtional gut wrenching cover!!

    * when I met Cherie back in 1993, she mentioned that former bass player of Heart Mark Andes was going to work with her.. I wonder if it ever happened?

Still love ya Cherie, With Love, MelancholyQwn (Heidi)xx

I wish she could have sung Waiting For The Night in The Runaways too.

    Cool

Well, i'd much rather have a CD of new material. If I had to pick a couple of songs, how about Bowie's "Rock & Roll Suicide" or Heart "Little Queen". forums

    Wink

I agree that an original album would be preferable too, but our beloved Tattoo proposed this subject as a FANTASY album...so in that spirit, I'm all for a Bowie cover! My number one Bowie pick, as Brawny mentioned above, would be to hear Cherie do a cover of "Hang On To Yourself"!

What was that nearly identicle Quatro song? "Doot doo, doindoodoo, dooindoodoo" (humming it to myself, no, that was Bowie) Oh, yeah, "Rock Hard". (but hers was "Dooindoodoo, dooindoodoo, dooindoodoo Doot Doo") Love that one too...anyone know which one came first? Had to be Bowie, right?

-Joe (apologizing for all the annoying humming at y'all)

The Runaways used to do a great version of "That's Rock and Roll" in their early shows. (Shaun Cassidy had a hit with this song shortly after). I think this would be a great song for Cherie to cover solo or with The Runaways. I think the song still coveys that great rock and roll spirit that Cherie still has.
