Obviously I have waaaay too much time on my hands. Here's some pics with the band running with Michael Shannon dressed as Kim Fowley. I'd say that Michael Shannon has the creepy factor down pat.

As for Robin.....I find this article, from June 30th to be quite informative!
It's from when Alia Shawkat was first cast in the role!

You may have thought that "The Runaways" had completed their band's lineup when they finally cast Scout Taylor-Compton as Lita Ford, but there was still one piece missing ? the girl who didn't become a Runaway: bass player Micki Steele.

Well, reportedly Floria Sigismondi?s biopic has found its bass player ... but it won't be the real life Steele. According to the Latino Review, Alia Shawkat ("Arrested Development") has joined the band as fictional band member Robin.

When the Runaways were originally formed in 1975, Micki Steele was the power bass player, but left the band, and was replaced briefly by Peggy Foster, and then permanently by Jackie Fox. Steele later had enormous success as a member of The Bangles, who have reunited, and are recording a new album this year. Fox was later replaced by Vicki Blue. The band just couldn't keep a bass player ...

So who exactly is this "Robin" character? Latino Review has had access to the script, and believes that Steele never gave her consent to use her name or likeness, and that a character composite they named Robin. The casting news has been nearly as erratic as the constantly changing line-up of the real Runaways, so it's very possible Alia could be playing a fictional version of any one of the band's bass players, or a composite of all of them.

While we might not know exactly who she's playing, if you saw even one episode of "Arrested Development" you know that Alia has the right attitude to be in the all-girl rock band, and can hold her own against the rest. The film is currently shooting in L.A.

Also........I know Jackie was asked to get involved and said no, so I think the Robin character came about as a contigency plan, to preclude any possiblitiy of legal action!
I doubt Robin will say much, in the film! Too bad, I'd have liked to see Jackie helping out!

Here's some intereating commentary from Kristen at the comic.con convention, a couple days ago!

Stewart appreciates the time between each film to work on other projects, to clear the palate. Most recently, she's been devoting herself to "The Runaways," in which she stars alongside Dakota Fanning, playing rock icon Joan Jett. Both actresses will be heard singing as well.
"I'm with [Jett] constantly. Thank God. It's about having her energy around. This was the most important time in her life," Stewart says. "She says the most ridiculous things to me like, ?This was what it was like to peak at 16.' It's like, you really think you peaked at 16?!"
Stewart touch on her own current "peak" as she gets "better at the craziness - but that's not what I've ever had a problem with. It's like the self-evaluation in interviews, self-definition. I don't know myself very well. I always take it really seriously. But I'm doing that less and less... which may not be a good thing."

Q: How's The Runaways going?
Kristen: Really good. It's hard to talk about now because I still have four days of shooting left. I feel that what we're doing is really important. I feel like what The Runaways did was really important, so trying to convey that is really awesome. It's daunting, to say the least.

Here are some pictures of Dakota in her PJ's with her "sister" Riley, at her side.
I believe this was on the final day of filming and, probably, for a scene after Cherie has left The Runaways and is trying to turn her stumbling blocks into stepping stones!
