Hey all, the Runaways tribute band THE STAY AT HOMES are donating the proceeds of the show on the 11th to Sandy, here is the info:
Benefit Concert to Celebrate & Pay Homage to the Career of "The Runaways" Drummer, Sandy West on Friday, August 11th, at 11pm
Come celebrate the career of the great Runaways drummer Sandy West
with the premier (and only?) east-coast Runaways tribute band, the Stay-At-Homes!
Arlene's Grocery (95 stanton st. between ludlow and orchard)
F Train to 2nd Avenue
NYC
212-995-1652
Tickets: $10.00
**all band proceeds will go towards Sandy's medical bills**
About the Band:
The Stay-At-Homes are:
Mony Falcone as Jackie Fox
Heidi Lieb as Lita Ford
Maria Mckenna as Sandy West
Jill Richmond as Joan Jett
Tammy Faye Starlite as Cherie Currie
They will be performing all the Runaways classic songs and paying homage to the great Sandy West.
It'll be a glittery '70s rock-and-roll american night!
Ok, the Stay-At-Homes may not be teens like The Runaways, but **** , they're hot
and they'll rock like the Whiskey
they'll shake you like a Sugar Shack! So C'mon
join these Neon Angels
as they celebrate Sandy
and all that was glittering sunset!
The Stay-at-Homes -- Not all garage bands are
made up of scruffy teenage punks. Some could just be the
neighborhood's "Desperate Housewives" rocking out their teen
fantasies.
Case in point: The "Stay-At-Homes," which is a Hoboken,
New Jersey-based tribute group inspired to the pioneering
all-girl punk band The Runaways.
The band is made up of five ladies between 35 and 45,
who portray various Runaways members, including Cherie Currie,
Lita Ford and Joan Jett.
Currie copycat Tammy Faye Starlite says all the gals
share a fascination with the '70s pre-fab chick-rockers but
have no intention of leaving home.
As she puts it, "We're just too old or tired I guess to
run away. The Stay-At-Homes made more sense."
Plus, she adds: "This way we can rock out our fantasies
without pretending to be actual homeless teens."
If you are in the area, PLEASE hear some great tunes and help the cause!
Thanks Ladies!

That sounds great! I was hoping a benefit concert would take place for Sandy
I'm planning on stopping by as well. Is there any chance we can get an auction going of something of Sandy's etc to raise money that way too?
You could do a pay-pal thing on the internet like when we did the cancer benefit back in 2005
Just an idea
