...The Doors of the 21st Century ? featuring founding members Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger, with the Cult's Ian Astbury on vocals ? will be performing at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on August 5, and have invited an all-star lineup to join them onstage. Perry Farrell, who regularly covered the Doors' "L.A. Woman" live during the earliest days of his band Jane's Addiction, will step into the late Jim Morrison's shoes for "Touch Me" and "The Crystal Ship." Macy Gray, Antigone Rising and the Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines will also be performing with the rock legends during a concert that's set to include Pat Travers and the original lineup of Vanilla Fudge

...The children's home that inspired The Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever" is closing its doors.

The children's home served as the inspiration for the classic Beatles track, as singer/guitarist John Lennon built the song around memories of playing with orphans at the home as a child.

...This is one of those things that probably should have happened a lot earlier: The Foo Fighters are playing in a hangar in the fabled Roswell, N.M.

Jardine, who parted ways with the band in the late ?90s, and started his own, litigation-baiting Beach Boys shortly after, wrote and illustrated Sloop John B: A Pirate?s Tale.
In the book, Jardine further reworks the story to become a tale about a boy and his father who must face brigands while on the high seas. The book comes packaged with a CD of Jardine singing a kid-friendly version of the Beach Boys staple.

...Less than one week after the band surprised fans by announcing plans for a North American tour while in the wilds of Brazil, comes an announcement that Stripes frontman Jack White has married model Karen Elson in the Brazilian city of Manaus.
The band's publicist confirmed a posting on WhiteStripes.com, which read, in part: "Karen Elson and Jack White were married yesterday (June 1) on the confluence of three rivers ? the Rio Negro, the Solimones and the Amazon ... by a traditional shaman priest on a canoe at the exact point where the three rivers met. ... The ceremony was immediately followed by a blessing by a priest at a Catholic cathedral called Igreja Matric."

I need to warn you all, that there's a lot of stuff on eBay at the moment that is completely fake! Take here item for example. NOT ONE OF THOSE AUTOGRAPHS IS REAL. Completely fake -- and the company, Reels Autographs are asking almost $50.00 for it.
Please don't fall for this. This whole eBay thing is getting out of hand, to the point where we are having to tell a lot of autograph hunters to F**K OFF! They stand outside airports and hotels with guitars, scratch plates, magazines, and surprisingly not many CDs. It's pretty obvious they're selling the stuff, as they more often than not ask for us not to dedicate them -- and when they do (in the case of the guitars or scratch plates for instance), they use nail polish remover to wipe it off.

... A founder of the band RUSH, his son and daughter-in-law filed a lawsuit Thursday against the Ritz-Carlton, its security director and three sheriff?s deputies stemming from a New Year?s Eve 2003 altercation at the Naples hotel.

The action, filed in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles on Tuesday, stems from 1972 and 1977 contracts signed by Third Story principal Herb Cohen and Warner-owned Asylum Records regarding Waits' services.
The Waits recordings at issue include such early albums as "Closing Time," "The Heart of Saturday Night," "Small Change" and "Heartattack and Vine."
According to the suit, under the terms of the two contracts, Waits was entitled to royalties of either 25% or 50% from revenues derived from third-party licenses. Third Story maintains that digital music downloads constitute a form of third-party license, and that Waits is entitled to payment at that level.

I think Paul is still putting McCartney-Lennon on "his" Beatle songs that end up on his LIVE albums!

It all reminds me of when the other three actually left the stage on the Ed Sullivan Show, back in 65, while Macca performed Yesterday solo.
When John came back out he said to the audience, "isn't that just like him."

...A homemade video was released Friday of the deadly nightclub shooting that left Dimebag Darrell and four others dead, including the shooter.
The camera was positioned at the back right portion of the stage looking into the audience as Nathan Gale began shooting during the Damageplan concert at Alrosa Villa on December 8, 2004.

Damageplan began playing just after 10 p.m. About a minute later, a security guard runs off stage and within seconds, Gale can be seen on stage with a gun. He is pursued by the security guard, and the first shot is fired. More shots soon follow, and two men are hit.
NBC 4 TV in Columbus, Ohio provides the video HERE
