Hi -
I am now to this message board. I always knew how the Runaways were, but had never heard anything of there's until recently when I was on Amazon playing samples. I [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] what I heard. Does anyone have a good jumping off point where I can start collecting Runaways cds? Also, what of Cherie's solo material would be a good jumping off point for me to get first? I would either get it via Amazon or if she has it on her website.
Peace

Hi James,
Welcome to the Cherie Currie message board. She is one in a million and her board is a wonderful place to meet and greet your fellow Cherie Fans. Happy posting to you!
For the Runaways discs you should try Cherry Red Records. They are the ones who released them all on CD.
They also have released Cherie's BEAUTY'S ONLY SKIN DEEP but a forthcoming US release promises bonus tracks not included on the Cherry Red one!
Toward the top of the main page here, you'll see several links. Check out 'Cherie's Web Store' and 'Ebay RCR Shop'.
You could start with:
A TASTE OF CHERIE
It's a great compilation of Cherie's songs.
Some other titles to grab are:
Cherie Currie's 80's Collection
Messing With The Boys (with Marie Currie)
Cherie Currie and Friends Unplugged In Hollywood 1996
Happy hunting!
And, speaking of links, don't forget to check out the Chainsaw Chick link too, if you haven't already!
See what Cherie can do with her chainsaw.
It's totally amazing!

Hello James, I guess we are sorta neighbors, I live south of ya, by a couple hours off of route 57.
This collection was just released a few weeks ago. It has songs from all of their LP releases.

Hey James,
Get 'A Taste of Cherie' first.
I think you'll be happy with it!

Thanks for the recommendation [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
I think my budget will stretch for that and the unplugged live album. I am going to be starting a correspondance course and have to pay my down payment on it, but thankfully, that won't eat up all my extra cash. (For those in the know - you don't work for the school district in any capacity to make money - ultimately you do it because you enjoy working with the students and helping them learn.)
I hope you had a chance to look at my blog-site. My creative outlet when either not doing a show or playing my guitar is my writing journals so I took it from doing it on a notebook to on the web. I try to write in an easy conversational way - as if I was talking to you directly over the web. Well, at least that is my goal
all the best

I want to thank you all for the welcome.
When I get paid from the school district I work for, I have some bills I have got to pay (don't we all) but I am going to order the Cherie unplugged cd to start off with. Then at the end of the month Live in Japan.
I did check out the chainsawchick site and man - the carvings are awesome. I especially like the dog carving - how cute
all the best
