LOL! I remember #1 from a hot dog commercial. Does that count?
Since we're doing quotes, I couldn't resist doing some from various songs. These song quotes go from the late 1940's though to 2005. Are you up to the challenge? To be fair to the younger members here I'll give you a couple of vague, general clues. All songs were recorded by well known artists, at the time they were recorded anyway. One of them was used as a storyline for an episode of a certain sitcom. I'm looking for song titles, but bonus points for artists. No fair googling.
1) Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head
Give 'em a twist, a flick of the wrist,
That's what the showman said.
2) All of my life
I've been searching for a girl
To love me like I love you
oh now
But every girl I ever had
breaks my heart and leaves me sad,
3) The car overheated
I called up and pleaded
There’s help on the way
I called you collect you didn’t accept
You had nothing to say
4) Hear that, how the veteran glide the record
But don't download, go out and buy the record
5) V-8 motor and this modern design,
My convertible top and the gals don't mind
Sportin' with me, ridin' all around town for joy.
6) She was only a girl
I know that well but still I could not see
that the hold that she had
was much stronger than the love she felt for me
7) And all the sentries at their posts
Thought it must have been the castle ghost
They jumped for their lives
In the moat
8) To all your friends, you’re delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Trying hard to fill the emptiness
The piece is gone and the puzzle undone
That’s the way it is
9) Torpedoes in tuxedos
Got iron in their hands
Cotton sound, lost an' found
10) A happy man I did encounter
said to thyself be true
one and one is only one
until you become one with you

Good One Furicchia Blu, on #9.
I think #8 is Aguliara's - Beautiful?
This is off to a good start.
RM, don't know if 1) was used in a hot dog commercial, but, sorry, it doesn't count.
9) Is of course Wasted.
Gus, you are correct on the title, and technically correct on the artist. The song Anna was covered by the Beatles, but there version was not the one used in that sitcom episode. So I'll make this more interesting, double bonus points for the correct artist, and triple bonus points to name the sitcom and episode.
As for 8), you got it Ella
It's probably to early for an additional clue, but one of these goes back to the very roots of rock and roll. Wait, what an I saying "roots", "seeds" is more the word. One of them goes back to the seeds of rock and roll. Even predating Elvis.
Okay the only reason I know this is because I saw him at the start of the Pistons, Spurs game on Thrusday night. But number 4 is Switch by Will Smith. That is really scary that I know that one.
Hi everyone.
Dawn
You got it Dawn.
