Unrelated topic here, but I've tried on a few occassions to get into the chat room, but I always seem to be the only one there. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, or I'm just too early. My problem where live chat is concerned is the time difference - it's 1.35am here at the moment and my eyes are starting to get heavy. If I don't managed tonight - or rather, this morning - I'll try again some other time. It would be really nice to chat to you guys. Have a restful Sunday.

It looks like we are a few hours behind you. There is a 6 hour difference between london & me, and 7 hours difference between Paris. That should give you a ballpark. I usually show up about 7:30 Centeral time & that would be between 1:30 to 2:30 your time.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Hey Paul, it was 8:30ish when you posted. That was Eastern Time, also known as Message Board Time, so there is a 5 hour difference.
Our chats begin at 8:30 Message Board Time so if you had entered the chat room right then, you'd have seen some of us already there.

I know that is an inconvenient time for peeps on your side of the pond but when we were establishing the best time to meet, several years ago, nothing else seemed to work out.

There are other disadvantages, as well, but all in all, it seems to be the only time when several people can show up at the same time. Some folks can only join us occassionally and some "regulars" can not always be there.

I like having an established chat time so people know it's an option for them when they ARE free to join in!
The end time varies, depending on how it goes and some people just drop by for a few minutes to say hello, before going about their business.

I hope you can stay up late once in a while and drop by at 1:30ish your time, even for a little while.
It gives everyone a chance to get a little better aquainted!

Oh hey, I think you are going to the wrong chat room Paul!

Toward the top of each page of the chit chat topic there is a post with the links to the OLD and to the NEW chat rooms.

At the top of Cherie's main page, here, there is a third chat room link. That is the hostboard chat room and we never use that one. It is an awful chat room.

The NEW Cherie chat room is not as problematic and we use it when necessary. It sounds like that is the one you are trying to go to.

The chat room we use, normally, is the OLD Cherie chat room.

You can add it to your favorites, in case the message board is down or just go to the chit chat topic and click on it there.

The OLD Cherie Chat Room works the best and is independant from hostboard.

I think I must be doing something wrong because I'd tried to get into the chat room immediately before posting. I went to Cherie's home page, clicked on the live chat thingie (exuse my lack of technical terms here), up popped a little box asking for my name and a brief description of myself, I obligued, clicked and up popped another box with just my name in it. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I should add that I've never been in a live chat room before, so this is all new to me.

Of course you're right to have the chat when you do. Usually I can handle being up at that time, but last night the call of the duvet got the better of me.
