Hey Folks,
Here are a few pic's from Cherie's recent comps.

The face was the first hour in Reedsport of the
"bathing woman in waterfall" that somehow didn't place.

Beautiful x 2 IMO!


The quick carves got Cherie second place. Way to go Cherie!!!




Cherie's Mermaid came in third place in Ocean Shores. Totally awesome, IMO!



and she also won a forth place award for a quick carve there!

WOW! Talk about impressive. I can't believe you were able to carve those under the scrutiny of competition. I always imagined that you took your time, seeing how things looked. But to do carvings that good? Hats off to you Cherie. I know I've said it before, but you are one talented lady!

Congrats again - Nice pic's! Ya know Cherie, If I were in competition with you - the judge's would of walked over to my sight and saw a big pile of fire wood carved up out of that tree stump. I'm amazed at the artwork created in such a short amount of time and under the pressure of competition. Truly beautiful. My hat goes off to you kiddo!! Cherie, Your piece WOMAN BATHING, is awesome. I find it hard to imagine looking at a log and seeing an image in the minds eye and then jump into the wood and pull the woman out from the middle of the block of wood, then to see the progress as you offer the final version, it is just mind boogling.

Congratulations on your awards, I am glad to hear that these competitions have energized your creativity. Looking forward to hearing about your next competition.

I'm not sure which of the quick carves took 2nd place in Reedsport and which one took 4th place in Ocean Shores.

I'll edit to reflect which is which, when I find out!

They are both GRRREAT pieces by a GRRREAT artist.
All of Cherie's work is totally amazing!
