Can you figure out who these '60s tv show characters are? Bonus points for the names of their tv shows and triple points for naming as many other characters in these shows.

Hopefully I didn't make these too cryptic.

Who am I?

1)
I work the graveyard shift.
Everywhere I, or my family go, people are always in a hurry to leave.
Our family is great with three generations and a relative living under one roof.
Our pet sometimes gets into mischief with the neighbourhood.

2)
I have a famous catch phrase.
I work on an island, doing a high risk, yet exciting job.
My team are some of the best in this profession, who always get the job done.
My work sometimes takes me to the mainland.
There is one person who is often manages to elude me and my team.
The theme to my show is a real "venture".

That was quick, so much for my these being cryptic. I shall have to make the next ones harder.

1970's television

Ok, this one should be more challenging. Older UK members might find this easier to solve.

Who am I?

This popular non U.S. show became a popular U.S. show.
It took an odd mix of people to help pay the rent. A mix that a certain person was highly suspicious of, and kept me on my toes, looking for an excuse to evict me. My last name was virtually the same in the both the U.S. and non U.S. versions. In the non U.S. version, near the end of the series I and one of my mates finally became somewhat closer. My U.S. version always came up short everytime. In both these versions I and this suspicious person were spun off into our own series continuing our charcters, as were the U.S. versions of us.

* Remember, I'm looking for the non U.S. version series character and series name. Bonus points for the other characters names. Triple points for the names of both the non U.S. spin off series, one of which was the same for both versions.

Al, It looks like I may have to give some points back. I was talking with my neighbor about Hawaii 5-o and he says Steves last name is McGarrett, not Garrett, and he thinks his sidekick was Chan, Not Chin.

Sorry my memory ain't working too good these dayz

You were right, it was Chin Ho played by Kam Fong. there was also Kono played by Zulu. Also, if i'm not mistaken, Hawaii Five-0 was the longest running police show on tv, 1968-1980.

I feel like I should know that Al but I can't quite put my finger on it!
I'll probable be kicking myself for not knowing once I do know, after someone else figures it out, I mean!

Hi Gus.

I was beginning to think no one was interested in this tv trivia game. Perhaps it's a might to obscure. So I'll give a couple clues. It's a BBC sitcom from the 1970's which spun off two series. and was the inspiration, for a U.S. series which had a long run and likewise had two spinoffs with the same basic characters, different character names but otherwise pretty much the same. Both series were about a mix of room mates, Hint, Hint. If you figure out the U.S. version you might be remember this BBC version. In both series one of the characters had the same first name, but in the BBC series the character was smart, and in the U.S. version the person wasn't. In both series the male lead character had almost the same last name. In the BBC version his last name had an extra suffix.

Hopefully that might help a bit. If not, just wave the white flag, and I'll tell you what it is.

Al
