Been getting into The All-Starrs later editions lately.
The seventh edition, from 2001, really rocked on 'King Biscuit Flower Hour'
and I just got the CD called 'Extended Versions' with the same line up!
Ringo gets by with a little help from these friends:
Roger Hodgson
Ian Hunter
Howard Jones
Greg Lake
Mark Rivera
and...
Sheila E.
Gets by? **** ....They ROCK!!!
Next up...Tour 2003!

I picked up the 2006 Blondie CD/DVD called
Greatest Hits_Sound And Vision
and it's excellent! The CD has all the best of Blondie, old and new with a cool remix of
IN THE FLESH.
The DVD has all the videos which I am glad to
have in one place and in perfect quality!
The Bonus track/video is called Rapture Riders
and actually combines Blondie's Rapture with
The Doors' Riders On The Storm!
It's basically Jimbo singing to the Blondie music
and incorporates the Rapture Rap, endng up with a
split screen sort of deal!
Produced by Mark Vidler/Go Home Productions for EMI Records,
this is some strangely amazing sound and vision.
How it came to be, I dunno, but I really do like it!
More later!

But I swear all the "must have" CDs and DVDs lately, are putting me more in the RED all the time!
Oh well, such is life in the big "music" city!

Robert Cray live "across the pond"
Very nice 2 disc set. I recently saw open for Clapton and was very inspired to buy the disc.
He heas sweet clean razor sharp guitar sound.
Good soulful blues all around.

That must have been 2 great shows in one Charlie!
Shows Clapton's confidence, having Cray open for him! Maybe you heard that Clapton announced, a few days ago, that his playing is on the wane!
I hope he is okay and it's just due to natural aging!
More later,

Talking of Eric Clapton, the film of the Cream reunion was remarkably good but then I'm a Jack Bruce fanatic and Ginger remains my favourite drummer so thats to be expected.
On a more up to date note, me and Ella touched base re. Jenny Watson. I'd like to say there are some good upcoming Brit bands and perhaps the Zutons may be the next big thing over the pond.
Too many bands over here are a 'flash in the pan'..Badly Drawn Boy has put out a poor album and Franz Ferdinand and the Kaiser Chiefs are great live bands but musically they dont have the technique to go forward.
I'm a bit of a traditionalist to tell the truth. I'll just check my CDs for a short playlist..
nuthin new really..
Bob Marley/Dillinger..I like Reggae obviously.
Flamin Groovies..you'll be aware of lol
The Electric 6, Neko Case and Flaming Lips are about the most modern repeated plays.
I'll keep my eye open for new stuff but I was watching the Coachella Festival a few nights ago and when the most energetic performance comes for old Iggy Pop its more than worrying - although it gives me and Ella some hope.
btw. the Stooges were the original band and despite a few looking more like Homer Simpson they whipped up a storm.
