A letter from Cherie Currie regarding The Benifit for The Free Clinic of Simi Valley

My dear friends,
I hope this letter finds you all well, healthy and
happy. I miss you all and think of you often... which
brings me to the reason I'm writing.
Last month I was approached by Ron Whitaker, a fine
musician with a heart of gold asking for my
involvement in a benifit he was putting together to
support The Free Clinic of Simi Valley. He explained
that this non-profit, family oriented clinic has had
their doors open for thirty years and they had just
opened a Free Dental Clinic as well. They have
supported themselves on a shoe string with small
donations from local businesses and neighbors that know
the importance of a safe place to receive medical
care, legal counseling and help for the homeless.
With the cost of health insurance these days, some
parents can't afford to fix a child's broken tooth let
alone provide them with important dental and medical
care. Adults and children alike are treated at this
wonderful place, no one is turned away.
I don't know about you but I sure could have used a
warm, compassionate place like The Free Clinic of Simi
Valley when I was in The Runaways and everyone was
making money but us girls!!!!
I visited this small, friendly (very clean) and
organized clinic and was blown away by the kind people
there. It was at that point that I decided to really
get involved and organize an all star event with the
likes of what this loving place had never seen before.
In my thirty years in this business I have never asked
a favor.. that time has come now.

FREE AID, THE EVENT
Hosted by Richard Blade
will be held at the Key Club, Saturday, November 12th
from 6:30pm till they kick us out.
The performers committed to this event so far are:

and myself preforming with an all star band (including
my son Jake Hays)

I just returned into town last night. Been on travel down to Memphis (Awesome town). I know I will be leaving on travel again in a week or so and will be gone until around Nov 9. If I can make it to this event - I will. Looks good at this point. Hope to see you there.

I'd love to be there to see the FANtastic performances which are bound to occur, with that wonderful line-up of performers. Jake's debut too! How CCool is that!!!
