I don't have any memories of CBGB since I've never been there, but I recall a thread here from some time back about CBGB so I thought you all would want to know.

yeah i posted this on a couple other boards i frequent. i somehow knew this board would have it posted. Sad day in music history for sure. thanks Hilly!

having practically lived at CDGB's in my misspent youth I can tell you that it was a sad day indeed here in the city.
It was sad to see the place go too.
Loads of people tried to step in but it didn't work out.
The lower east side will never be the same.
Patti Smith sang there the last night.
It's a shame the way NYC is becoming one big mall in some places.
