    having practically lived at CDGB's in my misspent youth I can tell you that it was a sad day indeed here in the city.
    It was sad to see the place go too.
    Loads of people tried to step in but it didn't work out.
    The lower east side will never be the same.

    Patti Smith sang there the last night.

    It's a shame the way NYC is becoming one big mall in some places.
