Madonna is reported to be consulting divorce lawyers amid rumours she is set to split from husband Guy Ritchie.

    AEEFDA6844EAF44EC8556E5BAC9

Madonna and Guy Ritchie's marriage has been in the spotlight

The star is said to have hired Fiona Shackleton, the lawyer who represented Sir Paul McCartney in his recent divorce battle.

As the McCartney case demonstrated, Miss Shackleton is adept at protecting the fortunes of her star clients, with the former Beatle giving up only ?24.3 million of his ?825m fortune to ex-wife Heather Mills.

Madonna's wealth is estimated at ?300 million and she is not believed to have signed a pre-nuptial agreement before her wedding to Ritchie in December 2000.

Ritchie, the film director whose previous credits include Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, could walk away from a divorce with up to ?50 million, according to legal experts.

While he remained behind closed doors at the couple's Wiltshire mansion this week, a grim-faced Madonna, 49, was spotted alone in New York without her wedding ring.

She was pictured driving away from her Manhattan apartment in her SUV, eyes hidden behind dark glasses.

The rumour mill swung into action several months ago, with claims that the couple effectively live separate lives.

Their last joint public appearance was at the Cannes Film Festival last month, where Madonna was promoting her documentary, I Am Because We Are. Ritchie, 39, appeared deeply uncomfortable as they posed together on the red carpet, and they barely exchanged a word.

The pair had been expected to delay the announcement of their separation until the end of Madonna's forthcoming Sticky & Sweet Tour, which begins in October.

But the disclosure that lawyers have been consulted has led to worldwide speculation about the split, and the couple are likely to make a formal statement sooner rather than later.

According to the Daily Mirror, Ritchie has reluctantly agreed to the divorce.

The couple have spent most of their married life in London, sharing a ?7 million home close to Oxford Street with their children - Lourdes, 11, Rocco, seven, and David, two. Madonna adopted David from a Malawian orphanage in 2006, and was granted permanent custody of the little boy only last month. Lourdes is the singer's daughter by Carlos Leon, her former fitness instructor.

A spokesman for Madonna refused to comment.

Lost Beatles tape will air on BBC radio

The British Broadcasting Corp. will air a long lost Beatles interview featuring John Lennon and Paul McCartney talking about the day they met and their songwriting partnership.

The precious film sat forgotten for 44 years in a garage in south London until film fan Richard Jeffs realized a piece of pop history was contained inside.

Experts were surprised to find the audio portion still usable for radio broadcast.

The nine-minute interview was recorded at the Scottish Television studios in April 1964 during the early days of Beatlemania. It will be broadcast for the first time on BBC Radio 4 on Tuesday and repeated later this week.

On the tape, Lennon tells how he was playing with a skiffle band outside Liverpool when McCartney introduced himself.

    Unhappy

"Did you hear the cops finally busted Madame Marie for tellin' fortunes better than they do?"

    marie

So sang Bruce Springsteen over 30 years ago in his song "4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)". Sadly, yesterday, July 1, 2008, that grand old fortuneteller and fixture of the Asbury boardwalk passed away at the age of 93.

Here's the full story as reported in the Asbury Park Press:

    Madam Marie, 93, Passes Away
    By Michael Riley
It was one line from a Bruce Springsteen song that made the boardwalk fortuneteller world famous. And now, Madam Marie has passed away.

Marie Castello, who had told fortunes since the 1930s and became famous for her presence and predictions on the Asbury Park boardwalk, died Friday, her great-granddaughter, Sally Castello said Tuesday. Family members attended morning services Tuesday, Castello said.

She was such a part of the Asbury Park boardwalk; she was the longest-running tenant, according to Gary Mottola, president of investments for developer Madison Marquette, the lead partner in a joint venture with Asbury Partners to restore or rebuild the boardwalk's entertainment buildings.

"She's an Asbury Park tradition," Mottola said. "We felt that honoring her by lowering the Convention Hall flag to half-staff is the right thing to do."

The psychic reader and adviser was 93. She became known worldwide from Bruce Springsteen's homage to her in his 1973 song "4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)":

"Did you hear the cops finally busted Madam Marie for tellin' fortunes better than they do."

"That was just The Boss," said Asbury Park Deputy Mayor Jim Bruno. "She was never arrested. But Springsteen turned her into an icon."

Bruno remembers his own run-in with the psychic.

"I was a 12-year-old kid. And I don't remember what I was doing, but I remember her chasing me away from her shack," he said. "Her death is a real loss."

    It also was somewhat unexpected.

"She really wasn't sick. She just wasn't feeling well," Castello said. "She was very, very strong until the day she died."

Madam Marie bragged that she had told the fortunes of everyone from Judy Garland to Springsteen himself. Legend has it that she told Springsteen he was going to be a success. Springsteen later joked that she told all the musicians that.

Springsteen, though, never forgot Madam Marie.

"He always comes by to say hello," she told Asbury Park Press columnist Bill Handleman in May. "He knows where he came from."

Marie Castello closed down her regular seer operations on the boardwalk in the mid-1990s after a drop-off in business. She continued telling fortunes in Ocean Township.

However, Sally Castello is one of the family members who still does readings at the Madam Marie booth not far from Convention Hall on the boardwalk.

"The booth will always be there," Marie Castello told Handleman. "The Temple of Knowledge, that's a landmark, that's nostalgia. They'll never tear it down."

In that interview, she also said she saw better times ahead for Asbury Park.

And she would know. As she told Handleman: "I've seen it all."

    Maybe she did.

Gary Froonjian, a former Middletown resident who moved to Florida but is operating a mobile espresso bar on the boardwalk this summer, sought her services once.

"After a fun night at the Stone Pony, I staggered in there one time," Froonjian recalled.

"I can't remember what she told me. It had to be 28 years ago," he said. But he added that he found the experience "very, very eerie."

With a new album under his belt, Ringo Starr is getting his All Starr Band together for a summer tour of North America.

The 10th incarnation of the star-studded group will include returning members Colin Hay, Billy Squier, Hamish Stuart and Edgar Winter, along with with first-timer Gary Wright and drummer Gregg Bissonette.
The trek is set to launch June 19 with a two-night stand in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and then visit US venues from coast-to-coast, including New York's Radio City Music Hall, into early August. Details are listed below.

In addition to performing songs from Starr's hit list--like "With a Little Help from My Friends," "Yellow Submarine" and "It Don't Come Easy"--the All Star Band will play popular tunes from each member's repertoire. Plus, there will no doubt be a good smattering of songs from Starr's new album, "Liverpool 8," which hit stores in mid-January.

The set, Starr's 14th solo studio effort, comprises 12 new tracks co-written and produced by the former Beatle with help from the Eurythmics' Dave Stewart. The title track and a few other cuts from "Liverpool 8" are streaming at Starr's MySpace page.

In addition to traditional pressings, the record is available as a pre-loaded USB wristband including the entire album, a personal video message, behind-the-scenes footage, ringtones, photos, and interview and track commentary from Starr.

"Liverpool 8" follows 2005's "Choose Love" and last fall's "Photograph: The Very Best of Ringo Starr," which comprises 20 tracks bundled with a bonus DVD.

[Note: The following tour dates have been provided by artist and/or tour sources, who verify its accuracy as of the publication time of this story. Changes may occur before tickets go on sale. Check with official artist websites, ticketing sources and venues for late updates.]

This is a little late but my interest has been building, since they have been promoting that July 31st show, on the radio, here!
I saw The All-Starrs several years ago and I'd love to see them again! I always tell people how I got right up front, so close I could look right into Ringo's eyes, but of coarse, he was wearing sunglasses, as usual! LOL!

Hey Gregg! Is that July 12th show, the one you are going to or is there another Michigan show not on that list???

It?s nice to see Ringo adding the new songs to his own repertoire, and interesting that he, like Paul, would add a-bit of a Lennon song, Give Peace a Chance, to his setlist.

This is the SETLIST for Ringo and his All-Starr Band!

    Major FLEETWOOD MAC Update

After endless speculation and "rumors" (sorry, I couldn't resist) Fleetwood Mac are reuniting in 2009 for an album and tour.

In June, Stevie Nicks told a newspaper that the Mac would be regrouping, sans-Christine McVie, for a series of recording sessions in October and would be in full-on tour rehearsals by February with U.S. dates to follow in the Spring.

    * The "new album" is in fact a new compilation album that will feature several new tracks. Interestingly enough, one of the conditions for Stevie recording new Fleetwood Mac music was that Lindsey not be named primary producer. An outside collaborator, rumored to be John Shanks or Chris Lord-Alge, is being brought in to "even things up".

    * The tour is indeed a "farewell tour" and could last up to two years with a blowout finale being planned. The ideas and expectations for this tour are big amongst organizers with one idea being that the finale will take place at either Wembley Stadium (or Twickingham Stadium) in London, or New York City's iconic Central Park.

    * Fleetwood Mac will be performing Christine McVie-sung material on the upcoming tour, with Lindsey and Stevie handling vocal duties on her songs.

    * The tour will kick off in the U.S. next Spring with a European tour of arenas and some stadiums
to follow. The group are already being mentioned for next year's Heiniken Jammin' Festival in Italy.
The trek will encompass several U.S. legs, at least one major European leg, a trip to Australia, and there is the possibility of the group returning to Japan for the first time with Stevie and Lindsey since 1979.

    * While Sheryl Crow will be participating in the recording of the new Mac tunes, she will not be made
a member of the band, contrary to what she announced to the public earlier this year. The first set
of U.S. shows will, however, be a Fleetwood Mac/Sheryl Crow double-bill. Crow is reportedly set on
opening for the group for the duration of the tour, including all overseas legs.

    * A lot of money is being put into this and the band are reportedly shopping their name around to both LiveNation and AEG Live for the farewell tour, and any one-offs that will follow.

    BTW.........

Stevie's edition of Soundstage is scheduled to premiere on PBS on Thursday, July 17. An accompanying CD/DVD set of the performance, produced by Joe Thomas, will be released on Tuesday July 15.

Stevie recorded her performance of Soundstage on October 25, 2007 before an intimate gathering of 400 guests at Grainger Studio in Chicago.

The CD/DVD set can be preordered now from Amazon for $24.99. Tentative track list follows.
