A couple of days ago my youngest daughter Tori bought herself a guitar. I was trying to think of a friend of mine to help her out.
The only one I could think of was my friend Stosh who passed away 5 years ago.He was a guitarist and his cousin Rich was the Bass player for the Romantics.Anyway thinking of him gave me a flashback of telling him of a concert I went to.
I remember you talking about a concert you did at Detroit Cobo arena opening for Rush, and I was just wondering who the main act was.
I remember telling Stosh the line up and when I said the Runaways was one of the bands he flipped,as he was a hugh Runaways fan and afterwards a Joan Jett and Lita Ford fan also.
Hahaha I dont remember seeing Rush.(whoa, brain cells or lack there of...hahaha)
Back then Detroit was known to have more than one band open for the main band.
Could this have been the Alice Cooper concert? Was feb. 10th 1977 the only date you played at Cobo?
Do you remember the line up? I do remember them packing the bands on stage until they were almost falling off the stage.
If you dont remember I'll understand,Because you and I both know that once you walk though the doors at Cobo it was an instant high...hahaha....and for days afterwards...LOL

Hey Gregg,
If I remember right it was just Rush and us.. They were real jerks by the way. They kept throwing paper on stage and when I jumped from Sandy's drum riser I landed on one and slid almost off the stage into the orchastra pit. They all laughed. They had no idea that it would have been a devastating fall. as#es!!!

Hi Cherie,
Well I was there in the nose bleed section, But I dont remember just two bands being there,I thought there were three. I do remember you slipping, but I didn't know they were throwing stuff at you girls. What a bunch of A$$HOLES!!
I still think there was another band, but I guess 30yrs is a long time to remember.
We usually got pretty toasted after the first band anyway!!!Hahaha
Thanks

Well, you got the last laugh, Cherie! They are crusty ol ugly booostards and you are a multi-talented, mega beautiful, shining star!
I hope their walker wheel makes contact with a banana peel and they slip and break a hip! (or two!)

Yes definitely a mean thing to do. I knew there was a reason that I did not like them. I only saw them once at the Nassau Coliseum here on Long Island and the only reason we went was because The Good Rats were opening up for them. We loved the Good Rats, but hated Rush. They were terrible in concert anyway.
Hope you had a wonderful holiday Cherie.
Love you all,

Woa lets take it easy on Rush this event was 30
years ago these Guys were "kids" They just
completed there 30th year of touring.
In Canada these guys put there money where
there mouth is wether Geddy looks funny or not
The Canadian Cancer society, MS , the Diabetes
foundation you name it the people appreciate the
work this trio has accomplished. Its amazing
wether you like them or not they are a
class act in every sense of the word. For a
Board that shows a lot of class compared to
other ones. Please we can forgive an incident
that happened many years ago. When I was in my
20s if I appologized for every piece of idiocy
I was responsible for man Id be sorry alot !!!!
Anyway this is just my opinion I am not a big
Rush fan but I appreciate what they have
accomplished.
Cheers to the Greatest board around.
