Thanks for that Rog.
I was just listening to Ringo's newest CD on Sunday and was enjoying hearing Billy's keyboards on some of the tracks.
I didn't know he had been so sick. Very sad news.
He was great and will be missed.

Billy Preston died Tuesday at 59.
I met Billy twice and found him to be a very likable man with a great sense of humor.
Rest In Peace Billy.

The Heavenly Band has just recieved another member </marquee>Billy Preston, the exuberant keyboardist who landed dream gigs with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones and enjoyed his own hit singles including "Outta Space" and "Nothing From Nothing," died Tuesday at 59.
His longtime manager, Joyce Moore, said a heart infection in November left him in a coma, and he never regained consciousness; he was taken to a Scottsdale hospital Saturday after his condition deteriorated.
Preston had battled chronic kidney failure and received a kidney transplant in 2002. But the kidney failed and he was on dialysis ever since.
Preston is survived by two sisters.

Billy also was responsible for the keyboards on the BEATLE classic "Get Back"
We also lost Vince Welnick from THE GRATEFUL DEAD as well....

BTW Bob Welch (Former Member of Fleetwood Mac) had these thoughts...
BILLY PRESTON....
Believe it or not , Billy Preston wanted to be in the "Seven Souls". He was about to join the band when the Beatles called him , and we went with Bobby Hunt instead.Preston was always a "regular" at "Mavericks Flat" on 4225 Crenshaw Blvd ( along with Diana Ross, Steve McQueen, Muhammed Ali etc. etc.) where the "Seven Souls" were the house band. At my age (60) 59 seems awful young...He was a very talented guy.... Bob Welch
VINCE WELNICK...
Didn't know Vince Welnick well , but my wife and I had a long phone conversation with him one day 5 or 6 years ago ; we referred him to our attorney , who evidently did very well for him. We also had a mutual friend , who DID know him well (runs his website) and according to him, Vince was extremely depressed by the way he had been treated (badly) by some of the other members of the Grateful Dead. All this may eventually come out in a book.. Bob Welch
very sad news.
i love his song "Never gonna say goodbye"
