Your Favorite Rock & Roll Films...Part Deux

PART DEUX OF ONE OF OUR MOST POPULAR DISCUSSIONS ON CHERIE'S BOARD !

SID AND NANCY: You know they're both going to meet a tragic end but like a Car Wreck you can't help watching it happen....

    tumblr kqeamnK5oD1qzm2g7o1 500

Who can forget the scene where Sid's chowing down with Nancy's Grandma & Grandpa bare dinner table bare chested with Nancy cutting his meat ?

Plus cameos by Iggy Pop and Courtney Love as one of Nancy's drug taking skank pals...

Gee I guess she really had to do a lot of research for that role !

DETROIT ROCK CITY - Even if you're not a KISS Fan, this enjoyable films characters will remind you of some of the people you went to High School.....

    DRTS

Featuring Shannon Tweed, Joe Flaherty, and Porn Icon Ron Jeremy among its cast members !

And I just know I'm gonna get fried for this but the character of Jeremiah Bruce aka Jam always reminds me of Cherie's son Jake...

    rock city2

The main difference being Jam was a drummer and Jake is a guitarist plus Jake's Mom is far more lovelier, warm, and 20 times more open minded than Jam's Mom !!!!

YouTube- Detroit Rock City - Part 1

AIRHEADS - Adam Sandler, Steve Buscemi, and Brendan Fraser as Indy Rockers causing havouc at a local radio station !

So c'mon offer up your second list of faves !

    My Picks are....

    American Grafitti!

    AmericanGraffiti

An unforgettable nostalgia film with Harrison Ford, Wolfman Jack, and Suzanne Somers as the mysterious Blonde in the T-Bird that Richard Dreyfus is in search of....

    Monterey Pop

    Phantom of the Paradise

BTW we heard they had to cancel a showing of SID & NANCY at a Texas Community College due to the Ft. Hood carnage since one one of S&D's scenes feature Sid gunning down a Paris audience as Nancy looks on with glee...

Re: Your Favorite Rock & Roll Films...Part Deux

We went to go see PIRATE RADIO (THE BOAT THE ROCKED - UK) and we thought it was ....

    ONE F**KING EXCELLENT MOVIE !!!!

    theboatthatrockedkj09 06 27

PIRATE RADIO is based on a time in the 1960's when the uptight UK Government only allowed "acceptable music" (No Rock !) to be played over the BBC and how several Ships with powerful transmitters filled the British Airwaves with the latest tunes by The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and many many more and delighted the hell out of Teens and other open minded folks all across the UK ....

In the 1960s a group of 8 rogue DJs on a boat in the middle of the Northern Atlantic, played rock records and broke the law all for the love of music. The songs they played united and defined an entire generation and drove the British government crazy. By playing rock 'n roll they were standing up against the British government who did everything in their power to shut them down headed by the scutrag Minister Dormandy and his butt licking underling Twatt

Written by Ben Curtis (BLACKADDER) and starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Charlie Wilson's War) as the American DJ The Count and the colourful Rhys Ifans as the randy DJ Gavin plus Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz)starring as the obese but lovable Dave .....

PIRATE RADIO is like Almost Famous Meets Titanic with great Rock Music featured on the Soundtrack and lots of Libertarian Antics like Pot Smoking, Free Love, and overall freedom going on 24/7

Plus memorable and relevant quotes as.....

"To all our listeners, this is what I have to say - God bless you all. And as for you bastards in charge, don't dream it's over. Years will come, years will go, and politicians will do f**k all to make the world a better place. But all over the world, young men and young women will always dream dreams and put those dreams into song. Nothing important dies tonight, just a few ugly guys on a crappy ship. The only sadness tonight is that, in future years, there'll be so many fantastic songs that it will not be our privilege to play. But, believe you me, they will still be written, they will still be sung and they will be the wonder of the world. " - The Count

"Governments loath people being free..." - Quentin

"Thats the whole point of being the Government...If you don't like something...you simply make it ILLEGAL !" - Minister Dormandy

And I have to confess the uplifting ending made my eyes water as well !

    PIRATE RADIO TRAILER

So Gus, Cherie, Jake, and all the rest of you, We ORDER you all to go out and catch this film and trust me you'll enjoy it very much !

Cool Re: Your Favorite Rock & Roll Films...Part Deux

Hello, has anyone ever seen this 1980's Cult Face that reportedly was based on Cherie & THE RUNAWAYS ?

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains

ladies and gentlemen the fabulous stains debbie rochon

    From Wikipedia

Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains is a 1981 film about three teenage girls, including Diane Lane and Laura Dern, who start a punk band.

Shot in British Columbia, Canada, the film also featured Ray Winstone, Christine Lahti, ex-Sex Pistols Steve Jones and Paul Cook, along with Paul Simonon from The Clash, Vince Welnick and Fee Waybill from The Tubes.

L.A. punk icon Black Randy from Black Randy and the Metrosquad also makes an appearance as himself and as "Mexican Randy". There are also brief cameos by Elizabeth Daily as a hotel maid, and Brent Spiner. Musician Barry Ford plays the busdriver named Lawnboy. Ford wrote the majority of the soundtrack including the title song "All Washed Up"; which features Jones, Cook, and Simonon.
