Neon Angel - A Memoir of The Runaways is #6 on the New York Times Best Seller List!
My good fiend from the Big Apple got me a signed copy of Neon Angel a while back but seeing as how I want to savor every word and I am busier than a cow's tail in fly season, right now, I am still not finished reading it. It totally ROCKS and I totally love Cherie's book though,
for sure!

It's not looking good for the Runaways movie folks. Here's what MSN posted for the weekend. Unless the movie picks up by word of mouth it looks like it's doomed to DVD. I blame whoever the distributor is. There was no TV commercials for it at all in my area and to see the movie (which I'm going to tomorrow) I have to drive 45 minutes. The two closer theaters, each which have 6+ screens didn't even have it! So get the word out and maybe we can turn this thing around.
Here's how the top 10 at the domestic box office finished this weekend:
1. "Date Nite" ($27.1 million)
2. "Clash of the Titans" ($26.9 million)
3. "How to Train Your Dragon" ($25.4 million)
4. "Why Did I Get Married Too" ($11 million)
5. "The Last Song" ($10 million)
6. "Alice in Wonderland" ($5.6 million)
7. "Hot Tub Time Machine" ($5.4 million)
8. "The Bounty Hunter" ($4.3 million)
9. "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" ($4.1 million)
10. "Letters to God" ($1.3 million)

Kristen Stewart ? Dakota Fanning?s THE RUNAWAYS Jumps 182%: Box Office
by Michelle Hutton | Apr 11, 2010
At 204 screens, the Kristen Stewart-Dakota Fanning vehicle The Runaways added $470K (+182.2%) this weekend thanks to the addition of 120 sites, according to Box Office Mojo.
Its per-screen average, however, was low for a movie in limited release: $2,304. On the other hand, the good news is that The Runaways actually boasted a per-screen average increase after more than doubling its number of theaters. That?s quite unusual. Generally speaking, per-screen averages drop when there?s a surge in the number of theaters screening a particular movie.
Last weekend, at only 84 theaters, The Runaways averaged $1,981; the previous week, at 237 screens, its average was $1,920. Something was done right this weekend ? I?m not quite sure what; Kristen Stewart?s 20th birthday celebration? ? to bring more butts to more theaters seats.
Directed and written by Floria Sigismondi, The Runaways has been greeted by mixed reviews. But generally, Dakota Fanning and especially Kristen Stewart have received positive-to-enthusiastic notices.
To date, the Joan Jett-Cherie Currie biopic has grossed $2.51 million in North America. It cost $10 million.
Also in the film?s cast are Michael Shannon and Tatum O?Neal.

I think word of mouth may be their strategy Sporty, as evidenced by this info.
There weren't even any Runaways posters at the multi-plex theater I saw it in yesterday, so I guess it's a low budget deal.
I did notice one person saying they were giving out Runaways pins and guitar picks at the theater they went to but, apparently, nobody else has been so lucky!
So anyway, I'll highly recommend the movie! It's FANtastic!

Hey Gus,
I'm gonna send you some select pix to post from the Detroit premier and book signing!
Not sure how to do it here anymore!
Photos have to be hosted somewhere else and then linked here Gregg. I used to have a handy-dandy little hosting site to use but now all I have is photobucket. It works but it's kind of slow going.
I'll see about posting your "way cool" pictures asap, if not sooner!
Looks like your kodak moments were FANtastic!!!

By the way folks, Gregg posted some of the pictures on the California Paradise site, where remote hosting is not necessary.
Click on the link and check them out, if you are a member there.
