Sprocketman - been to that very same fish and chip restaraunt in Malibu you talked about.
Cherie took us there a couple of years back.
Great food - but not quite as good as back home - not enough grease - and no mushy peas. Then again - we don't get a view of Malibu beach while upping our cholesterol intake..

Boy do I miss Mushy peas, especially with curry sauce on!
Or a black pudding with mustard, I once even tried pie and mash when I was in Whitechapel,London just after seeing Wham....don't which one gave me the "runs" but I haven't eaten pie and mash or listened to Whan since!!!

My refuge is the central California coast (San Luis Obispo county) I only get to escape there one week a year, for now. Another year and I'll have an extra week of vacation time per year....
