W32.Bugbear@mm is a mass-mailing worm that is rapidly spreading to Windows users.
The subject and attachment name of incoming emails are randomly chosen. The attachment will have a double extension ending in .exe, .scr, or .pif.
Symantec Security Response has released virus definitions to protect against this threat, as well as a removal tool to assist in recovering systems already infected.

Please be safe when opening attachments and check that your Virus Scan is up to date. I have one attempt yesterday but Norton caught it and no damage occured. Symantec has a removal tool if you think you are infected.

You're welcome gus
I am all about security of computers, since I chat in MSN chatroom, and hackers abound. I learned the hard way one time and had my entire hardrive crash Now I keep my system in stealth

Hi Val,
My hard drive went bad last year so I know what a drag that can be. I hadn't saved anything to disc or anything so I got to start all over with a new hard drive. What fun. If a hacker had caused it I would've really been fuming!
Thanks again for the info!
