Most messageboards have polls to start but not this one. I want to start one about who is most nauseating poster here.

Or maybe we can have a poll on best adjectives to describe them:-
sickly
chunderous

I'm working on chunderous, Midnight. But I'm a little stuck. Wait a sec - I think I dated a girl in high school named Chunderous - she called herself Chunder - but everyone knew her as Nancy.

Do not be sorry.

Go sniff a flower and drink coffee and you will get over it.

I vote for Gus as the most sickliest.

hey Missy Muse...

glad you're posting again. a bit of light relief from the cloying, antiseptic slop. could you re-send that email you sent me yesterday? it got lost in the translation. i'll be flying to Kyoto next month (staying at the Four Seasons Hotel near Ichinan Park) so maybe i can take the fast train down to visit you for lunch again. get back to me ASAP.

most sickliest poster here? that is a difficult one. so many to choose from. hard to pick just one since most of their personalities are interchangeable - in fact, it COULD be one just one person posting under several names...who knows??

email me babes. love your Sukiyaki Duck rolls....yum!!

love, ggx

I must agree with you, Gordie, about the antiseptic slop that has lately permeated the board lately.

To me there is something fundamentally at odds here, between the idea of Cherie Currie on the one hand, and this saccharine, low brow, Hallmark greeting card nice-nice banality of expression on the other.

Currie is a true rocker: and all true rockers are iconoclastic. Along with her peers - such as Joan Jett, Bruce Springsteen, Debbie Harry, David Bowie to name a few - Currie through her music and stage presence challenges and disturbs whatever is ordinary, insular, and commonplace in our experience. Like all true rockers she creates a vernacular that is urgent, provocative and powerfully seductive.

This seductive quality is only enhanced by the duality that comes through in her more private moments - of motherhood, visual arts, authorship. A person who is so complex utterly belies through that complexity all the snivelling, smarmy excess of adoration that is heaped on her by fans who - if they really understand the music - should know better.

I also agree with you on another point, Gordie - I think there are posters here who have fabricated more than one screen name, and sustain dialogues between themselves, all in service of this groupie-excessive syrupy nonsense they slather upon us in the name of praising Cherie Currie.

I find it mindless, boring, and out of touch with what rock and roll is all about.

SO I cast my vote for all the wannabe poets on this board - who also don't understand that a poem is about urgency and tension and the sophistication that comes from genuine experience, not goofy rhyming in service of sucking up to a star.

And Midnight - I think you're a ballsy babe and I thank you for injecting a little vitality into this forum.

Cool

Why do some of you on this board go out of your way to put others down? I don't get it...

Dear MidnightMuse
Your verbal chunder is so delightful
I can't begin to say
how honored I am to be your choice
on such a lovely day
A corny sort of sweetness
has surely filled the air
spewing like old faithful
It's nice to know you care!

Gus

PS Thanks for the kind words my NICE friends
I love each of your very distinctive personalities!!!
Gordie> I hope that Acorny Sweetieness line wasn't too vague.

Dear teddy

what are you talking about exactly?
a couple of years in the late seventies when she was exploited ? is that what rock n' roll is about?
you seem to be crunching different eras together.
should the messageboard just be you & gordie & midnight muse?
if you were Cherie, wouldn't you like to read NICE things?
what icons was she confronting at sixteen/seventeen at the mercy of a foul manipulative circus?
